The Broken Deep lost sector difficulty is too high.

As the title says, I believe that the difficulty of this lost sector in particular is too high. As an activity that is supposed to be used for farming engrams, it is difficult to a point where it's not worth the time or effort it takes given that receiving engrams upon completion is down to the RNG Gods. A: The rooms are too small for the amount of enemies you pack into them (towards to latter stages of the lost sector in particular) or designed in a way that there is nowhere to stand to gain your health back as so much of floor or walls have either a blight puddle on it or one of those booping things (don't know their name). B: Overload Champions are a bigger pain than they've ever been with Hand Cannons being the seasonal modifier. I know in future seasons Hand Cannons won't be the overload champ weapon, but as it stands Hand Cannons are virtually useless against them outside of the initial stun and using a special or heavy as a cleanup after the stun uses way too much ammo to be effective over a full run. Overloads also have way too long of an invincible state after being stunned and can very easily teleport and get their full health back without you being able to do anything about it, NOT TO MENTION they still manage to shoot you whilst in their stun state. C: the boss being able to one-shot you, even at 10 resil, seems excessive to me, especially since he can suspend you through the pillars. Speaking of which, the boss's suspension lasts too long, in my opinion. Many times I have been suspended through a pillar, and then the boss walks up and kills me instantly. I understand that as a community, we have asked for more challenging content, but this seems a little bit too far since it's supposed to be a quick activity that is farmable.

I use THUNDERLORD an exotic heavy(machinegun) in combination with Midnight Coup. It is strong against overloads without the need of an artifact. It helped me a lot. I started playing D2 about 6 months ago and still figuring out the game, but I agree the final shape lost sectors are very difficult. I managed to do The blooming deep flawless on master but it took me 58 minutes haha. Broken deep I did on expert, next time hopefully on master too. Forgotten deep I am struggling with now and trying to find the best method to beat it. Try to see it as a challenge, I kind of like to figure out ways to get it done. Patience is the key. But yes, THUNDERLORD was a lifesaver. I hope this will help you too. Edit: I just see that LikwiD_SmOkE22 already mentioned the thunderlord.

  • Blooming deep is doable in 6-8 minutes. I just did it first time today around 12 minute, but my build was not optimized and I played super cautiously (slow) because I wanted to get the ”no dying” triumph done. And I did it with prismatic titan (which many seem to think sucks compared to warlocks and hunters).

    • I believe that the Lost Sectors still are able to over-level, so it is better to run them late in the season. Was having quite a bit of difficulty with the boss myself last night while trying to complete a Flawless, as sometimes the boss attacks would pass through the grating I was using as cover. However I am at -15 currently and it is a very small room with Phalanx enemies that love to bump you around while the boss gets stronger each damage gate that it passed. It wouldn't be so bad if the boss didn't have 3 damage gates and overly high HP as well, but I would settle for better cover.

      • I don't bother with the high level LS anymore. There's one on Numurumba that has a spam firing Hydra with HUGE splash & it was jus tedious & miserable & designed by a drunk idiot 😆 The "challenge" aspect of the game is getting laughable it's so janky. Running Expert Breach Exe today & couldn't see ANY weapon model. Or other players. Constant "misadventure" deaths at boss fights & enemies taking no damage or jus falling over. I dunno what's up, but the game is drunk & the idea of attempting one of the Pale Heart LS is jus hysterical.

      • Use thunderlord and your problems are solved with the overloads.

        • Believe it or not the mass of the player base never asked for the difficulty increase it was max about 30% and mostly pushed forward by streamers and sherpas who make a living from the game.

          • Every new lost sectors from LF and TFS is too long. But Bungie don’t get that we all don’t have all day every day to play their game. Or maybe they do, and don’t care.

I stopped doing the lost sectors with LF. They are just annoying. The difficulty is there but in a bad way. Like “trap you in a room with no good cover while an immune unstoppable hounds you along with a ton of ads” annoying. Some of those ads being taken phalanxes with their comically overpowered shield blasts that can hit you from a mile away They just aren’t fun anymore. I used to go for all the lost sector triumphs but not anymore. It’s not worth the frustration of dealing with cheap difficulty.

            • The Pale Heart LS on legend feel more difficult than others in master.

            • The pale heart ones are definitely harder in comparison with the extra mechanics, being under leveled, learning the spawns and smaller rooms. I think once our power is up and the spawns are learned it won't seem so hard. For the blooming deep I used the stairs as cover from the boss. I ran the forgotten deep on master last night, it took me 10 trys to get the solo flawless run. It felt like an achievement and I got 5 exotic engrams and a ton of glimmer so not all bad. No class item though 😭

            • Additionally, if you die you have to drop down into a room full of enemies and no cover (both on the second section and the boss), most likely ending in immediate death...
