Time it takes for overload cannon to proc

  • Use Thunderlord or Lemon , or chill clip fusion Drawing down on a GM overload with a revolver is suicide

  • Fun fact, stunning them with shackle grenade does not stop their health regen This happened a few times to us last week in the nightfall on master, they lived through a ton of heavy and even supers Don’t use shackle on them Not sure if intended or a bug

    • Explosive Payload handcannons or heavy burst handcannons work great. Haven’t had an issue yet this season. When are you shooting them with the handcannon? If you’re noticing the health starting to regen before stun is over, you need to work in some HC shots to re-stun. Overload suppresses enemy ability usage this is what removes the health regen on overloads

      This has been my experience: [b]Nightfall Advanced[/b] > any HC 1-3 shots no issue (under-over Optative and Maahes) [b]Nightfall Expert (solo)[/b] > whenever the mfk'n overload champion decides/impossible (max light @ time like mid/upper 90s, sunshot..exp payload..etc.. tested in glassway as 1st champ.. just to see if could figure out a pattern.. nothin.. coded badly very badly.. 4-17shots) [b]Onslaught[/b] > overload champ is like nightcrawler, warping all over the place, around your ADU.. worry about their movement but they go down easy once caught in a hail of bullets.

    • Takes just as long in PvP for Headseeker to proc.

    • Try using a hand cannon that has explosive payload. It procs after one shot

      • I personally like a 180 RPM for the job, particularly my Posterity with Voltshot which also does double duty. Mainly I use my Jolting grenades though, as they last long enough to kill the Champion with a Special or Power weapon.

        • I emptied an entire mag of Nation of Beasts into an Overload champ in the Master Lost Sector yesterday. The champ laughed at me and healed to full while I was reloading. I'm dead serious when I say my strat wound up being to wait for my super to charge, then empty however many mags it took to stun the champ, then super it and burn it down before the stun wore off. All because Overload Hand Cannon decided it didn't want to function properly. How long until Bungie bothers to fix this thing? I mean, we know from anti-Barrier mods that they definitely have code for "this gun just always works against champs and doesn't need a proc". What's stopping them from applying that to Overload and Unstoppable too?

          • Honestly, anti-champ mods should just always be active like the Anti-Barrier one is. Why should I have to pause my shooting or land multiple hits on a target that could kill me in about 2 seconds even with max resilience? Champs were a poor design even back in Shadowkeep.

            • You either need an Aggressive Burst Handcannon or one with Explosive Payload. That said I find most overload primary weapons to be inadequate so in GMs I used Chill Clip weapons or Thunderlord

            • The Overload Sword Artifact Perk works pretty well so long as you are cautious when going for the Stun (judicious use of Guard, equipping a Caster frame or using Heartshadow for Invis). (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

              • I've noticed explosive payload seems to speed up the process. The base overload should be faster but this should help till bungie fixes it in 2026
