Being suspended NEEDS counterplay.

Being suspended in PvE is absolutely awful. There is NO counterplay at all, for absolutely no reason. When Stasis launched, the counterplay was to shatter yourself out of it, getting you back in the fight at the cost of HP. For Suspend, there’s nothing. You get suspended, your accuracy is terrible, and you’re a sitting duck for ~3s. There’s nothing you can do. Bungie, you added more Stasis and Strand enemies with TFS, but you didn’t add a counterplay to being suspended? Iconoclasm is a nightmare on legend simply because being suspended is a guaranteed death and there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s no reason that you launched Stasis with counterplay mechanics, yet Strand has no counterplay mechanics over a year from launch. Bungie, don’t listen to the elitists in the comments saying “simply watch the subjugator 24/7” because ignoring every other enemy to focus on the boss is terrible game design, and is going to get me killed just as often as being suspended will. Taking my eyes off a subjugator for 2 seconds shouldn’t result in a death. Do players instantly die after looking away from the boss in a GM for 2 seconds? Then looking away from a subjugator shouldn’t result in one. Let us break out of it.
Being suspended in PvE is absolutely awful. There is NO counterplay at all, for absolutely no reason.
Aside from simply moving out of the way (Subjugator Suspend attacks move pretty slow and are highly telegraphed), here are some other counter plays. Towering Barricade: Blocks the Suspend attack from reaching you. Stasis Crystal: Blocks the Suspend attack from reaching you. Threaded Specter: Provides a new target for the Suspend attack, allowing you to run away. Invisibility: Causes Suspend attack to stop tracking to your position, allowing you run away. Healing Grenade: If you have no means of avoiding an imminent Suspension, toss a Healing Grenade at your feet and Restoration will help keep you alive during the first few seconds (even better when paired with the Speaker’s Sight Exotic). Mountaintop: If you get Suspended fire Mountaintop into any nearby terrain (or enemies) to give yourself a nice boost in the opposite direction, improving your Survivability through mobility until Suspend ends. Sword Guard: If you get Suspended switch to a sword and start blocking to reduce the amount of damage you take, improving your survivability through damage reduction until Suspend ends. Activate Your Super: If you get Suspended activating your Super will immediately cause you to break free. - And for the sake of thoroughness, a short list of things I’ve tested that cannot be activated while Suspended: Quickfall (Trapper’s Ambush), Ensnaring Slam, Ascension, Icarus Dash, Phoenix Fall, Glaive Shield, Heir Apparent Shield (notably cannot even be fired while Suspended), Eager Edge, Grapple Grenade (or any Grenade for that matter).
