This used to be a relative cake walk. More importantly, it used to be FUN!
PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE DESTINY FUN AGAIN!
Bungie, you need more players, and need them to play more end-game content or PVP, keep playing weekly even after the campaign and episodic crap ends? (Spoiler alert: Yes, you do!)
Forcing casual players to "leave their comfort zones" is not the answer. Forcing severely introverted people to buy a headset/mic, search endlessly for a LFG that doesn't have a "Toxic Speed Runner Needs 2020+ DPS Hunter or Warlock, KWTFD, Have Meta Everything and 50x Guilded Flawless Conquistador Title or Get F'n' Kicked, Bring Mods and Beer and Strippers" tag, and then play nice with aforementioned snob, feeling obligated to apologize profusely if you die, is not the answer. Forcing people to git gud or go away is not the answer. Forcing everyone to be a hunter and use meta crap 'cause using the preferred class, subclass, weapons and build isn't viable anymore is not the answer. Forcing people to start learning raid mechanics and symbols just to acquire crucial gear is not the answer. Forcing people to do anything is not the answer.
Making it FUN to step outside one's comfort zone is the answer.
Worthy incentives will help, and ensuring they're able to "step," without feeling like it's a giant leap, especially for someone who's not too bad, above average (compared to the normal player base, not all the humble braggart GOATs on this forum), someone who had no trouble with the legendary campaign, to play the easiest dungeon.
Seriously, I can't take two steps without an ogre flinching me completely across the map, not that it matters 'cause I can't take two steps without a wizard and add team-shooting me to s--t in 0.5 seconds.
Resilience and resistance mods used to help; now they're worthless.
Need to equip a sword just to f'n' move. Used to be able to use shield bash for movement, but the cooldown was quadrupled.
Used to be able to proc frequent overshields, but barricade cooldown was nerfed.
Used to be able to melt bosses, but bubble no longer provides Weapons of Light without wasting exotic armor slot on Helm of Saint-14.
Used to be able to crutch a high light level in end game content; now it doesn't matter. Note: I'll be playing a HELL of a lot less now, and spending a lot less on Eververse crap.
Bungie, you NEED casual players to continue playing after they've finished the campaign and episodic crap if you want the game to survive and meet revenue expectations. Hoping to survive off streamers and sweats and the top 1%, or even the top 20%, isn't enough. You need the other 80-99%. And they need you to MAKE THE GAME FUN AGAIN!
Update... I got a build and nuked that f'n' ogre, nearly one-phased the SOB. Still, those f'n' wizards and the ogre's flinch are overtured AF. And s--t shouldn't require constant invis on a GD Titan.

1 ReplyI know this is a serious post but the Flawless Conquistador is hilarious

1 ReplyI really don't understand this method of trying to revitalise old content by making it 'harder' it's ancient no one wants something they've been doing for years to suddenly take twice as long, that's tedium personified. Over levelling old stuff to blitz through is part and parcel of anything with said levelling system, removing it is just straight up anti-fun

2 RepliesI think some people here are missing the fact that Shattered Throne used to be "baby's first solo dungeon" and the dungeons got progressively harder from there if you played them in release order. The difficulty curve there, as of the end of Lightfall, was inadvertently really well-designed from a solo [flawless] perspective. I say "inadvertently" because the TFS changes make it very clear that Bungie doesn't want dungeons to work that way. IMO, it was a good thing for Shattered Throne to be powercrept to the point where the ogre boss got deleted by anything remotely resembling a competent DPS setup. It let people just starting out with solo and solo flawless dungeons get used to having to solo mechanics and handle situations where literally the entire room is targeting them, without having to worry about having meta DPS weapons, or deal with needing 8 cycles to kill one boss. I'm glad I got my solo flawless when I did, because considering the current state of things, there's zero chance I ever go for another.

4 RepliesYou nailed it, the whole game is tedious now & it's very very sad how it's ended for many. I'm actually on the verge of selling my consoles & buying sky sports & just giving up gaming. Everyone thought they'd wake up after last year's problems but they appear to have doubled down & said seeya then 👋

As someone who is a speed runner, has cleared every contest mode they've attempted and trio flawlesses every raid... These difficulty changes hurt the game dramatically and benefit no one. They should all be reverted..

4 RepliesShattered throne NEEDED an update to modern levels.
-
3 RepliesA complaint that long over a 15 minute strike is embarrassing, 5 year olds can solo it.
-
1 ReplyTLDR: I’m mad butthurt about PvE not being 0 effort
-
2 RepliesSkill issue..? Shattered throne is still piss easy and you can definitely get some sub 20 minute runs with one phases. Theres basically no difficulty in comparison to when it first dropped

8 RepliesEdited by Zodleon: 7/4/2024 11:43:54 AMWe just ran this, and i was expecting so much more from it after this complaining. The entire time I was asking my friend, you're sure they increased the health. As I nearly one shot the final boss with a single super. I've solod all the dungeons but warlords and solod prophecy last week (and it was easy, only died on the sparrow bit because it exploded after touching the ground.) so don't give me crap about having a teamate in the dungeon. I want to call this a skill issue, but after reading even more of this, it's just you wanting to be lazy and not do the absolute bare minimum buildcrafting to compensate for the encounter in a mf solo dungeon. My guy, it's not overtuned. You're just lazy, and that's a you problem.

1 ReplyEdited by Ray: 7/4/2024 4:34:12 AMHoly -blam!- what an overreaction It’s literally -5. Barely a difference

What Bungie should’ve done is what they did back in Destiny 1. There was a normal version of a raid and a hard version with better loot. I don’t see why Bungie can’t just make a hard version for all these raids in dungeons so it allows people that are used to the normal version to still play it.
-
4 Repliesthe new guy needs to go if this is the trash we’re getting. not sure how they allowed that idiot to do this to the game. he literally ruined the game.
-
That -5 power is a complete joke not only that the new power system sucks.
-
Agreed. Buff fusion rifles.
-
16 RepliesCan't say I disagree with most of this cause I don't. While I have enjoyed parts of final shape it has made me play less due to things I'm unable to do cause of feeling like I'm forced to do do things out my comfort zone and when that happens I retreat further

Somebody doesnt remember how it was NOT a cake walk back then xD

4 RepliesEdited by Tippstir91: 7/3/2024 2:19:21 PMAnd all this happened in Shattered Throne or? I’m confused by the post, seen a lot of people complaining about not feeling as strong etc, but Shattered Throne is not an issue. 1945 light cap, can be done solo or lfg without a word to each other. Idk if Shattered Throne, a dungeon from like 4-5 years ago, is really the best example to try and make the point/argument that you don’t feel quite as strong or that hearding people toward LFG’s isnt fair because they aren’t made for social introverts etc. You can just as easily make the argument that raids in most MMO’s and games in general aren’t catered toward casuals or social introverts as they are most of these games’ top community involved activities and should be viewed so within that lens. Just because some of them CAN be done with next to no actual communication doesn’t mean they ALL will. You also don’t need to be a streamer to try and learn/talk to others in an mmo to coordinate a plan. All the strategies are already laid out, just have to execute by communicating to others.

Cmon on man let’s be honest with ourselves you haven’t run the dungeon in a long time ya probably forgot what it’s like to be under power cause most of the playerbase whines worse than a mule over the omg I have to power farm every season and ya got cheek clapped it happens but from my perspective everything has gotten easier still hunt, prismatic, double rolled exotic class item head up guardian look up some cool new builds and try again
-
That's what happens when they keep plucking managers from the same rotten butt part tree.
-
Bungie decided long ago that they would base everything on trying to get people to bring others into the game for them so they can push more ever verse and Bungie store sales. They did this at the expense of the player base with absolute disregard for veteran/ day one and solo players. I refunded TFS after dual destiny.

1 ReplyEdited by Rastaman (GRANDMASTER): 7/4/2024 9:37:42 AMTf ??? I even made a solo flawless guide about it with 28 resil ... 😂😂 https://youtu.be/xPe2uy8nGpw?si=whwjupDjYh1uDH1V

1 ReplyWhat are you talking about? This dungeon is easier than taking a piss. I literally 2 shot the ogre and witch with still hunt and GG. Compared to newer dungeons which are tanky af, this feels almost to easy. Some enemies hit back but most are damn weak
-
1 ReplyEdited by NerfPaladins06: 7/4/2024 7:38:52 AMDoubt they touched it other than bumping the light level of it like they do all dungeons/raids/exotic quests/nightmare and empire hunts / etc every expansion. When's the last time you ran it? It probably just seems harder because it's been a while. I'm certain I could go there and it'd feel the same as I remember.

Dude, you got Conqueror. Every GM nightfall is harder than Shattered Throne.
