Koftiks kill not triggering mote of light drop or Triumph completion 7/2/2024
I have killed Koftiks more times than I can count since he was brought back after the patch to try and get the Kvostov. This newest patch released today allowed me to track the bosses I haven't killed in each pale heart region and of course, Koftiks is the one the game is saying I have not completed.
Assuming that this was corrected as of this patch, I went to the blooming in the pale heart, had to grind all of the objectives to get Koftiks to spawn, killed him, and it STILL did not get a mote of light to drop AND the triumph is still saying I have not killed the boss.
When will this be fixed? At this point, I feel like I am one of the only people still experiencing this since I don't hear anyone having this problem anymore.
Is there something different I need to be doing?>

Un-freaking-real Bungie... I'm not sure when this thread was made, but it's clearly been nearly a year, at least and you still haven't fixed this. Add this BS to the Cyst missions and honestly, whoever was in charge of all this needs to be fired.

Bungie can you please fix this, I have tried every recommendation online to get this to drop and I am still not getting the Mote nor a tracked boss kill in the Journey/Triumphs tab.

Bring its health down low. 2. clear out any adds so they don't have a chance to kill you during set up 3. make sure its death blow is by a weapon and not a power 4. Keep laying into it with an automatic weapon in its hole even when its health bar is 0 and disappears. Those rumors about the mote of light being launched off to space is not real because I was standing too far away for me to pick up ANYTHING it dropped. Hope this helps.

Edited by Midnight_Luna070: 7/11/2024 2:32:33 AMstill having the same issue even tried on a different character and still no mote of light (killed it 5 times) even after going back to orbit and going back to the blooming found a solution if your stuck on 16 motes put them in the vault and then go back to the blooming kill the boss and it should give u the exotic mote

I got it on my second attempt of it. First time I burned it down fast and nothing. Saw people say that you should take the time and kill all of the non-respawning adds first then damage the boss down to the threshold. Rinse and repeat. I was also standing right underneath the boss when I killed it and made sure to jump up because apparently the boss can sometimes launch the mote in a random direction

I found the fix if you kill it and your right under and keep jumping as it dies you can collect it before it flies away

I'm having the same issue. Nothing seems to work to get Koftiks to drop the mote.

6 RepliesHi there, thanks for reaching out! Since you’re only missing the defeat of the Koftiks boss, can you try to eliminate it a couple times, making sure to return to Orbit between attempts? Additionally, it is currently a known issue where the Mote of Light dropped by the Taken Servitor may be flung from the boss on defeat, so it may not appear directly where they fell.

have you tried making sure the final blow is from a plain jane non-explosive non-dot weapon?
