Enigma Protocol - My Thoughts

So, I ran this mission a few times earlier tonight and wanted to get a few personal insights out for posterity. (That part was meant as a joke.) I decided to have a go of it blind because I'm not a fan of spoilers and to be completely honest, I sucked on a whole new level. I genuinely had no idea what was going on for a majority of the mission aside from, "There's an enemy! Imma shoot it!" Many apologies to the players that found themselves stuck with me on that. Afterward, I made a few adjustments to my loadout and made a few more attempts and while I did a little better, I still sucked pretty badly; the important thing was the improvement, or so I'm telling myself. My unsolicited advice to those who haven't tried the mission yet would be: give it a shot to see how it works and how you do, then perhaps look up some suggestions or even a video to get a better grasp of the mechanics and overall layout. Still, I did find it enjoyable aside from being woefully unprepared, somewhat under-leveled, and lacking in the necessary skill to be less of a burden to my fireteam. Making one beforehand might be ideal as well. Good luck, Guardians!

The difference between this and a lot of other activities is that mob priority is a mechanic. Meaning skipping. You kill the right stuff, then move on. Many of the traversal sections have time savers or slightly different routes. If you learn where the gold nodes are, if you spawn in and kill the Timekeepers... you'll have more success. It's a little annoying, when you think your team understands things, then you get to boss and they run around killing adds... but I just leave (after we fail) and reset then. I'm sure as the Episode progresses it will get better when the mechanics are better understood. The loot is great, even if you only make it the first chest... quad perked weapons, high end mats. Season of the Splicer is probably my favorite season, so I like that I get to revisit these spaces. I did all the time trials solo so I'm used to the Traversal sections. TLDR: As you get used to the Traversal... it gets better. More failsafe unlocks... better. Breaks the Gold Nodes, spawn in and kill the Time Keepers. There's an emblem for breaking all the nodes, and a triumph for doing it fast.

    • I kind of enjoyed it, but I think there could have been a bit more variation in the two. they are almost, if not completely identical. I also think the white pylons in the "pause" room with the first chest have way to long timers to pick them up, both to first pick it up, then between when you can pick up each after. Played some games yesterday, but people kept leaving and joining so stuff went slow, especially in the first room with the orb charging. got to the last Sparrow part before time went out.
