The Final Shape- A Very tired guardian
I'm not sure where to start, but I know where to end. And this expansion is that end, for me.
I have LOVED the lore of D2 and the interplay between guns and abilities. Absolutely top notch and will remain an example of something I have loved across all of my gaming experience. However, the negatives no overwhelm the positives.
I started to write a list of my issues with destiny but I deleted that very lengthy text. Instead, I'll say this;
You have breached and broken the trust of many of us, Bungie. Sunsetting and content vaulting, especially at the scale its been done in D2, is absurd and a slap in the face to us players. As I went to log on tonight, I realized how tired I am of the same exact loop of seasonal action. SAME, EXACT, LOOP. And the worst part is that you promised different. -blam!- you for that.
This game needed new direction and leadership years ago. And at this stage, I'm tired of waiting for it. MANY of us are tired of waiting for it. The rewards system is so utterly senseless in some aspects ( nightfall adept cyphers, strange coin cap (serisouly, why the -blam!- would you do that?), ONE class item drop per exotic run, and the list goes on... We're tired of drip fed content and loot, only to have exploits that keep us engaged removed ASAP.
This will be my last post on D2 issues and my last expansion on this game AND from this studio. I appreciate the folks who gave us such vast lore, beautiful scenery, and amazing ability+gun game play. But for those who are responsible for the amount of content we get and how we are rewarded, I truly hope your days are numbered in this industry because you are KILLING IT.

12 RepliesEdited by theghost26000: 6/30/2024 4:30:16 AMyep… this dlc is trash. final shape ruined the game. this isnsunstting all over again. there is no point in playing. i’ve been sitting in orbit because i can’t actually do anything. none of it is fun. breach executable or whatever it is is awful. the timer on. the mission destroys it it is so terrible in fact i don’t care about the seal anymore. there’s no way i’m doing any of this trash. very annoyed by this dlc. i hope the guy in charge is fired quickly. this is awful. just awful.

I’m lucky that I have an amazing clan and friends to play with and help with the grind. They make it fun to play and are good players. If it wasn’t for them I’d have quit this game again when Lightfall dropped. However you’re right. The game is just ridiculously dull to unlock even Duel Destiny, never mind the Khvostov quest. Both of which I’ve completed but then why did I bother? For Bungie to remove 2 bugs that benefited both the weapon and the grind for the exotic class item. Look at the bugs in the game. Just look at them. This is incompetence at the highest level. Especially when Precious Scars was stated to be fixed and it’s still not resolved as it functioning just like it was after TFS dropped. WTF?? It’s like they just don’t test the game, or their fixes either. And of course everyone is invisible now. I still love playing. I’m just not buying anything from Bungie ever again. This year is it. No Marathon, No Frontiers. Nothing. I sincerely hope that Bungie gets eviscerated by Sony. Saving those that made this game great as you said in the art department …etc.

Destiny 2 is the greatest "coulda-shoulda-woulda but didn't" in gaming history. So much potential, wasted. Still some fun, but could have been so much better. I focus on the fun bits and try to block out the bad parts.

Final Shape will be a dropping point for a very large portion of the base because of this. It didnt innovate enough and its draw as story closure made everyone overlook how burnt out they were on business as usual. It will not sit well long term

It makes no sense after you finish the campaign. The seasonal, errr, episodic content is the weakest ever, pathways that you have to do crucible or gambit to finish is dumb, there's so much not to like. The campaign was very good, imo, but now it's just boring.

I could be wrong, but from my personal view, nothing has changed drastically to say otherwise. Thanks.

3 RepliesStrange coins cap = people not being able to farm xur rank rewards. With no cap you could literally go from 1 to 16, reset and do it again 2 or more times the 5 days he is available. That could have consequences on for example the cost of materials when upgrading armor and a lower quality inventory for Xur. Sure 99 might not be the best number but 6 vanguard ops games = 42 coins with his boost. Spending 99 coins then farming up 99 more won't take more than around 2 hours +/- some minutes which is fair work for his inventory when doing pathfinder and ritual games anyway. -- Tell me about an exotic mission that gives more than one exotic per run, there aren't really any and after unlocking class item, chest farming is waaaaaay faster. -- Nightfall cyphers are a bit pointless sure, but they aren't this dlc new, so if these are the reasons for a dlc that makes it your last when it hasn't been out even a month yet.. I can't really say it's good reasons, but each to their own.

There was a time when Bungie had integrity. That time has passed. Now they will do anything necessary to cover up their laziness, including paying for reviews and paying streamers for hype, and having employees come on the forums to bully people who post actual real feedback. They are now spoiled children just trying to "win" without actually winning at anything.

Some will only see the short distance in front of them so what it’s a large expansion but in reality full of what ? A raid that looks like it could give you an aneurism to figure out how to do it !, one new strike again a reprised strike that was sunset. The list goes on and on and on and another larger take on Osiris and Saint 14’s strange Gay relationship WTF. I ain’t a gay basher but in your face push like this isn’t what destiny was about year 1

The huge problem with destiny is it has had no competition for so long it's success hurt it. It needs competition to force those making the choices to do better but it doesn't have that. Competition breeds growth.

The only ‘trust’ thing that chaps me is Cayde’s timeline the last year or so. [spoiler]Bungie advertises Cayde is coming back for what, like a year? We play the campaign and he really is back!
