I was into the idea of having more expansive off the main narrative type stories in episodes like they advertised it. However what they gave us is a season spread out over an additional month per season. Acts aren't for the sake of the story. it seems to me like they split it up for the sole purpose of farming login numbers. seasonal models have always consisted of about 9 weeks worth of content that is drip fed to us. considering we had 3 weeks this act I'm guessing we'll have 3 weeks the second act and 3 weeks the final act so we are getting literally the same exact amount of narrative. However we aren't getting a remastered raid which they have plenty of and should be offering us, why is Leviathan not back in the game, and we also don't get 2 new dungeons just 1. I feel ripped off and disappointed yet again. Which honestly sucks because they gave us such a fire release with the final shape but I would have been much happier saving myself $50 and just buying that rather than being sold false promises yet again.

2 RepliesEdited by G4LL0WGL455: 6/30/2024 2:34:40 AMSo glad I did not buy TFS and the so-called Episode model. Tried to play a night fall yesterday. Got to the boss room and was literally overwhelmed as were the players I was with. Under the "old" difficulty I picked either adept or heroic cause I could do it. Here advanced is the entry level and it is much more difficult than previous. Bungie is gearing this game for a select audience. Hope that audience has lots of cash to keep them going cause I am keeping mine. Edit: I should have also mentioned that I left the nightfall before completion. Whether the other players finished the event I do not know. I left because The boss was constantly killing me right after I spawned. I could not do any damage to either the bosses or the two champions that spawned in. I used to be able to do basic nightfalls. WIth the new difficulty that is no longer true.

You could have easily saved yourself the headache. It's been the same development for a few years now with minor adjustments. If you feel ripped off it's because you ignored what was always right in front of you. A developer that isn't interested in making their player base happy, they are only interested in taking the player base money and showing numbers. It's a good thing not all developers are like this one because gaming would be 10 times worse than it is now.

7 RepliesTimegating quests with only a few steps at a time including "go talk to" and "listen to message" is probably some of the worst that got introduced. It shows the lack of creativity and the laziness from the creators. Well except for vaulting content players actually have paid for, usually never to be seen again. Even with all past content, destiny would have a smaller file size than call of duty, but the problem is all the issues and bugs that would come from it that Bungie would not be able to handle considering the amount of current bugs and the time it takes to solve them without creating new issues and bugs because of conflicting data, code and etc.

4 RepliesEdited by Nenya: 6/27/2024 6:17:15 AMI don't know if you are a long time player or a fairly new one. If you are a new one, I am sorry you got disappointed. You will learn soon enough not to trust them. After so many years I know this company well enough not to believe a single word of what they promise. I am glad I didn't buy TFS nor the episode, which I am not surprised to hear it's a disappointment for so many ppl who purchased it.

5 RepliesIf Bungie's episodes model and new anti-solo direction is to farm logins......Then they have failed. I paid for the whole year and I will do it all every Tuesday for the 45 mins of content (If we are lucky) and filter out the pathetic secondary story. One thing though. Them patching the Dual Destiny double reward exploit has given me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. People were saying how wonderful the mission was and now they get to play it even more. I am so very happy for those people. They deserve it.

1 ReplySleight of hand, Bungie marketeers are great at it.

1 ReplyDoesn't look like they did anything close to what they said they were going to do. There is absolutely no difference between this and seasons. All they did was change the name and to make matters worse, increase the length. And the story telling? It's as broken and chaotic as its always been. And the excuse that this is just a "light" ACT because it followed the DLC is BS. Will the following ACT's be any better? We have to hope that they will. But then that's always the problem with Destiny, the player base is pretty much in a state of hope all the time. "I hope I can logon today", "I hope next season, I mean ACT2 is better", "I hope I hope I hope". They should change the name to "A Destiny of Hope". Will I continue to play? Of course, because I'm hoping the next season, I mean ACT, will be better... For reference so that everyone is on the same page before you comment this is what they said previously: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/destiny-showcase-2023-recap https://www.theverge.com/23844068/destiny-2-the-final-shape-joe-blackburn-interview https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-is-scrapping-its-current-seasonal-model-in-favour-of-three-episodes-per-year/ https://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-destiny-2-is-ditching-seasons-for-less-predictable-episodes/1100-6520642/

1 ReplyEdited by Major-Payne: 6/28/2024 9:08:23 AMTriggered much? Blowing your top a little early. It’s been a whopping three weeks. You -blam!- people will look for any reason to -blam!-. That’s why no one listens to you.

2 RepliesCompared to Undying, Hunt, Risen, and Defiance, I'd say it's pretty good. The activity reminds me of deep rock galactic.

7 RepliesEdited by GrayEagle: 6/27/2024 3:28:39 AMIs this really any different than any other major game developer currently? EVERY major developer releases minimal content for maximum $$$. It's simply just basic business strategy. This should not be a surprise to literally anyone that plays the games. If you want more content for your money, stop giving them your $$ to start with. They will make change when their product doesn't sell. Or even better, stop playing their game. No players = no income. The short of it: stop complaining and take action. That is the only way you will feel better, and if enough people do this, it will force action.

5 RepliesI'm going to respond to them in kind. By not purchasing anything else. Here's to hoping others do the same. It's gone on long enough.

Edited by Hyperion724: 6/27/2024 5:15:19 PMBungie continues to lie and disappoint

1 ReplyHow about wait and see what we actually get in the expansion before drawing conclusions? I mean, we have another 11 months to go for the expansion, and we are only 3 weeks into the first episode lol.
-
2 RepliesHave not finished the first act, yet. Is it really that bad? Many are complaining.
-
3 RepliesI knew it was going to be garbage, yet I still bought it. I only have myself to blame
-
1 ReplyWere we expecting something on the level of Final Shape immediately afterwards? Of course not. Were we expecting them to at least raise the bar for the bear minimum of Seasonal Models? Yes. Bungie if you're going to immediately regress back to your lazy, copy paste, time gated, boring and predictable Seasonal Model, then you better rethink your future plans.
-
Not sure what people are raging about or were expecting. An episode is just a slightly longer season divided up into 3 acts. D2 is still D2…. Boring story beats with repetitive fetch quests to fill the gap til next expansion
-
I said during the season of the wish that episodes will be bad and now I was right, I haven't started the echoes quest, and I don't plain to, the final shape campaign finished destiny for me so why continue the game when comics and other media can fill in the blank. My character sitting and looking at the traveler told me destiny is done. Any other story that comes out is just filler and that is what episodes are filler.
-
This weeks story wasn’t to bad, but since It’s coming right after the expansion, I’ll give act 1 it’s pass. But act 2-3 of episode 1 better be a banger
-
2 RepliesIt's also cheaper for them because they get to make less content. Not to mention the season pass which has double fillers and is time gated like the story.
-
It’s nothing more that the same old stale seasonal model that Bungie claimed the “heard our feedback” about after that disastrous SOTG post in 2023. Episodes are literally just the same seasonal model with a different shade of lipstick. And a pig is still a pig even if it’s wearing lipstick.
-
Edited by Critz: 6/26/2024 10:29:32 PMWere you really expecting a different outcome? It's business as usual. Over-promise and under-deliver. The delay wasn't about delivering on the finale of the "Light and Dark" saga. It was damage control due to layoffs and conditioning us to longer content droughts. That's it! Episodes are just seasons that have a longer intermission between story beats
-
10 RepliesWait to see what you’re buying — simple as that.

I went into it hoping for a small improvement on seasons and yet seasons was better.
