I don’t like it. To much thinking and coordination. I have been raiding since day one have everything crafted adept everything. I am said that it stops here. Still going to play the game but it’s over Maybe I am getting too old

9 RepliesI agree, it’s not a very enjoyable raid.
-
I didn't even bother doing the last 3 new raids. D1 raids are better in every regard. Need to have WotM asap
-
9 RepliesThe last raid I enjoyed was DSC. Hard pass after that. 🥱
-
Thanks for exposing you’ve never even attempted it. This is one of the easier mechanics to learn and implement considering you don’t even need communication for any encounter but the fourth. It’s like Ghalran where as long as you know how it works, it can all be done with zero coms.
-
It's actually the best raid they've ever made. Verity is the most fun raid encounter in the entire game. Verity is also very simple once it clicks. I hope future raids are mechanical as well not as much as SE but I want them mechanical where everyone has a job. SE has proper difficulty for it being the raid to end the main antagonist of a saga.
-
I like mechanics and objectives in rates but I must agree this is a little much
-
1 ReplyYea this raid is too much, I wanted to try it then watched couples of video on YouTube .. gave up the idea; probably after couple of months I will give it a try but for now, I feel like you need significant devotion to the game to do it like I am not fully clear how to do it even now 🤮.

The 1st raid in Years that I have no urge to play. Typically I'm on it, the 1st week of launch, but most of the final shape content has too much mechanics and it's not fun.
-
71 Repliesthe entire dlc is trash. final shape has ruined the game. it’s not fun. it isn’t challenging either. it’s stupid. the people that go through this garbage will get the titles and stop playing and normal players won’t attempt any of it. root of nightmares is the best raid bungie ever did because it allows players to go in there and raid and have a good time. sheer numbers tell us that. but don’t tell that to the corporate bootlickers defending bungie on every terrible change they’ve made. this dlc trashed the game. it’s garbage now. very frustrating.

1 ReplyEdited by Obi-Juan: 6/23/2024 5:12:56 PMAfter Root of Nightmares this post SCREAMS entitlement. You had your glorified dungeon. You can't have it all
-
2 RepliesToo much thinking and coordination in the best content Bungie ever puts out? And this is the last raid we will probably ever get with this quality. Yeah bad take, really bad take.
-
7 RepliesThe most challenging part of the Raid is understanding the 4th encounter, which is especially confusing if you go in blind. Particularly since the three encounters prior to that are completely different in design. It reminds me of Root of Nightmare's 3rd encounter in that manner. However once you learn the trick of trading and have good communication it gets much easier, which can be said for most encounters. The problem lies in that you almost need to watch a video or three on it to get the right perspective, which I think is a miss as it will be much harder to teach anyone without using those as tools.

I'd be disappointed if it were easy
-
It’s honestly not that difficult. All your doing it ping ponging a beam of energy from 2 plates to make shapes Do that twice let plate die close pillar. Simple as thag for 3 encounters I will admit the 4th encounter is absurd. But it’s easier when you know what to do. :)

I will say my clan which does have some good pve players hasn’t touched the new raid (and they have titles adepts from all prior). I think the motivation to wipe for 8 hours to master it just isn’t there. And because there is nowhere to hide new or lessor players (except on the witness) we wouldn’t be able shift people in and out At best we might start running weekly witness checkpoints to get the exotic or pulls for the bow. Tbh because the raid is so artistically beautiful and integral to the story I wouldn’t mind bungo producing a narrative version like they did with part of vow that would let people experience it but not get raid loot

I like it.

1 ReplyI've given up on playing Destiny 2 myself. It's not because of the content, but rather the Pathfinder aspect that makes for the worst kind of leveling system imaginable. Without there being other games available to play, in the meantime I've been dusting off my backlog of poorly made games while waiting on actual anticipated releases for the year... such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
-
1 ReplyIts an easy raid. My problem with it is not enough bosses. One more boss would have made it great. Didn't like the design for the herald of finality either, real lazy.
-
I feel like the raid needs to live up to the 10 year boss saga with less room for mistakes. Everyone needing a role until final boss is something I like, and honestly, I'd prefer the witness to have kept a 6 people being involved in the witness if there was more forgiveness to the roles (genuinely pyramid hand is my least favorite thing in the entire raid). I like it. Encounters 1-4 are a blast for me. I love witness damage phase, just wish you had some time to start damage from breaking the last glyph to kill the last subjucator that spawns.

You're getting too old then. Raids in destiny have been too simple and dull. Root was a great example of a bad raid. Never more than 2 people doing mechanics other than planets, and always 3-5 people add clearing. This new raid is the prime example of a GOOD raid. A true raid. It forces the whole team to be functional human beings instead of having 3 people being dragged along like bodies that do nothing. In my opinion, as a raider main, this is the best raid they've ever made.
-
Salvation's Edge is one of the best raids in the game right now, exactly because the main difficulty is generated through mechanics, not something easily solvable due to unfixable power creep. Especially the forth encounter simply requires everyone to understand the mechanics, which of course causes trouble for some teams, since there are always some clowns who insist on doing add clear.

Every raid post Last Wish has felt inferior.

Edited by Dredgen Truth: 6/23/2024 9:55:57 PMI enjoy the raid The problem I end up having is that I have had to explain what seems like very simple things to me over and over again. Today I had to explain to someone they can change who they are spectating, for example. I hope you'll forgive me for thinking things like that are more of a player problem than a problem with the raid.

Encounter 3 should’ve been a boss fight instead. There are too many pure mechanics encounters. And having just 2 bosses just kinda feels bad. It’s also a pain to teach so LFGs have been a slog. It doesn’t need to be a slog or too easy like Root. Crota’s, Kings Fall and Vow all nailed the difficulty for a normal raid.

4 RepliesI’d say just have fun and practice the encounters with your buddy’s and pals… you’ll go in knowing you won’t complete the raid but at least you’ll practice the encounters… I’ve already mastered the first 3 encounters. Practicing the 4th.
