The never ending spawn of enemies on the western side of the Blooming (when that event actually spawns) doesn't seem to count for catalyst kills. I'm working on finishing as many catalysts for exotics as I can and thought I'd try that area to farm kills for No Time to Explain which for some reason needs 700(?) kills. After about 400 kills I thought I should be getting close since I was about a third of the way there when I zoned in. Nope, no progression. It seems like you have intentionally designed it so people can't farm kills in that event. I have no clue why, though. Seems like a really dumb thing to deny kills for something as inconsequential as a catalyst. I honestly never use the thing and now I just want to delete it and never look at it again. Really petty design choice.

This is intended. Back in February 2022 the devs nerfed [b][i]rapid, infinitely respawning enemy sources[/i][/b] to provide zero experience as well as zero progression for Crafted weapons, Catalysts and Bounties/Quests after many players abused AFK farming methods at the Thrallway in Shattered Throne. Essentially if a group of enemies respawn so quickly and in a predictable enough manner that you can kill several waves with a single activation of a propagating explosion or self-extending effect, those enemies will likely provide zero experience or progression.
