REVIEW: The Final Shape Is Over-rated

CAMPAIGN Campaign isn't that good, maybe better than Lightfall, even though it was completely predictable and filled with mostly cut scenes and monologue. PRISMATIC I find it to be under-whelming. I don't even use transcendence. The concept is cool, but overall I feel it is nothing more than a novelty. THE PALE HEART This is the only thing I have enjoyed thus far. Patrols. Not alot compared to other AAA games, but so far the best in Destiny. PATHFINDER Lame. This is coming from someone who doesn't do bounties, but I still prefer the bounty system over Pathfinder because it doesn't force me to play content that I don't want. Also, why isn't it front and center in the director? Why is access to it somewhat hidden? EXOTICS/WEAPONS/ARMOR Pretty solid, even though I don't really have any plans to actually use any of it. EPISODES It appears to be the same as a season, except we are getting 3 instead of 4. So basically we are getting less content for the money if paid annually. RAID Haven't played it, because I don't do Raids. Not worth the time investment in my opinion. SOUND Not as good as previous DLC's. GRAPHICS Same. Dated. OVERALL As predicted, too much recycled content. Review: 6/10. As a Destiny main of the past 4 years, I really don't see myself sticking around much longer. I just I wish didn't give in to the hype and spend $200 on it. I'm not saying Destiny is a bad game, I'm just saying I think it has run its course, and I don't see Bungie bringing anything innovative to it in the future. Bungie just isn't the game developer it used to be. I think Bungie/Destiny is dead.

Campaign was just reused raid mechanics/assets, and didn’t focus enough on the witness. I would have preferred seeing more of his army and disciplines and the black fleet which were very absent especially after seeing them pyramids enter the portal. 1 strike come on bungie. Tormentor spam everywhere The pale heart I did enjoy the linear part of it but I would have preferred something involving the black fleet over the reverse d1 cosmodrome mission. Plus the location itself is lacking in other players. New weapons somewhat good. That heavy trace and still hunt are definitely gonna get nerfed to the ground. Then prismatic the one thing I actually enjoy even though it’s just a reissue of all our other subclasses. I can already see the nuke bingo is gonna unleash on it especially for hunters. I want to use it and build craft with it but what’s the point since bungie hates fun and loves nerfing everything fun and useful. Then the raid it was fun the first time but due to it being just long and tedious just ruins the farmability (-5 power, lack luster loot, and surges aren’t helping) (difficult comes at the cost of replay ability). The exotic class item mission was a cool concept but just tedious over anything. The coop part I enjoyed, but I do think requiring people to team up is a little dumb since people should have the option to solo it. Maybe for the solo experience just let them solo it by having to juggle the buffs to do the mechanics by stepping on the plates. I am a solo player that doesn’t have an issue lfging but sometimes it can take a while to vet people (people having mediocre gear, expecting a carry instead of being a team player, or just refusing to communicate/mic up) to find someone that won’t be a hinderance (endgame content does require prep and knowledge sorry but that’s the truth). The episode is starting off pretty boring. The only thing keeping my interest is wanting to know who the vex humanoid looking character is. I think people are overhyping the dlc because it is as better than what we got in lightfall but once the honeymoon phase is over people will go back to their regularly scheduled “I hate destiny” or “nothing to do in destiny” phases.
