If it's not progressing until next month, not many reasons to keep playing this.
Edit: It's not. Better stop playing, Bungie is robbing your XP.

They keep finding new ways to stretch out content. And reuse it. It's gotten very old. The season pass, the new "episodes" the Pathfinder (especially). All new ways to stretch and reuse content to keep us logged on.
-
If it's not progressing until next month, not many reasons to keep playing this.
When I check my seasonal challenges it says I'm currently season pass rank 106. So what that tells me is the exp is gonna carry over when the next act comes out, we just can't get the rewards yet.
-
So when you get to the max rank for an arc then you can’t go beyond it rn? Like rn you cap at 100 and can’t go beyond or get ahead ?
-
What if there was no gameplay, you just log in to get battle pass xp and read lore cards for more? Just a completely non-mechanical 'game' where the whole point is just a battle pass. Battle pass, battle pass, battle pass.
-
All the xp we get till act 2 is wasted, there is no reason to turn in the seasonal challenges until it unlocks
-
You say this, but you're probably one of the people that complain when you unlock everything.
-
If it's not progressing until next month, not many reasons to keep playing this.
If they removed time gates, this post would exist as “I did all the content of the episode, not many reasons to keep playing this. There’s nothing to do.” I’ve played since D1 beta. I’ve seen it before. You whiners will always find a reason to cry. Get over yourself and enjoy destiny at their peak. There’s no hope for you people if you whine during forsaken and final shape as much as you whined during curse of Osiris and D2 vanilla.
-
Honestly I wouldn't mind this if they didn't lock the Red Death's catalyst behind this wait. I guess the one good thing is I won't have to play 50 pvp/strikes just to complete it.
-
9 RepliesThe activity is a snooze fest, the "new" content at reset can be finished in 20-30 minutes. Once you've finished up with the Pale Heart stuff this expansion, there really isn't much to do in the game.
-
Elden Ring DLC is out in like a day fam
-
Yes I don’t get the argument that if they released everything at once we would burn through it all in a day and then complain. Whether they drip feeding us a line or 2 of content a week or give it all to us in one go it’s the same amount of content. I’d much prefer if they gave us all of it at once and let us play it at our on speed than time gating it.
-
There's not much to do in the first place so they have to stretch the content thin over the weeks with time gating and repetitive grinding for "content"
-
Did they really need to time gate the Red Death Catalyst?
-
Maybe it feels so stupid because it is stupid. 🤷♂️

Edited by Yosemite Sam: 6/20/2024 12:11:33 AM
Time gating season pass feels stupid
It doesn't "feel stupid" it actually is. This Bungie always lives up to my expectations that I don't expect anything less from them because 99% of their ideas just don't work for the game. What you said OP tells me they really don't have anything to offer to the player base if they have to slow the game down to where it's stagnant, and a lot of people are already bored off their... "GOTY" right? The logical thing that should have been done was taking your guy's money and actually do something with it, like updating the outdated content in this game as the devs did back in Destiny 1 updating the raids and making them worth the time running again. Nope, let's just make them run activities that a lot don't like as they have been doing with Gmabit and Crucible multiple times over the years. I wish this game had a developer that at least tried to show they care about their work. I could maybe let some of the nonsense they have done slide.

I have unclaimed seasonal challenges. I can either claim them now for not much at all, and then have to level the season pass when it unlocks, or wait three weeks with the tab flashing away until I can actually put them to good use. The same Bungo that put the Red Death catalyst in the 140 level. Absolute bobbins.
-
40 RepliesOh I see, you’ve fully explored all builds, have gotten godroll exotic armors, ergo sums and all possible OP class item combinations on all classes. Then, you ofcourse have also crafted all Ghosts weapons, and all Failsafes weapons. Man, you’re a beast of a gamer, must’ve played 250 hours these past 2 weeks alone. No, 400. How do you do it, and please enlighten me on why it’s super important you get the Red Death catalyst this week, because it’s your favorite most used gun right? Sorry, am I making assumptions?

Touch grass my dude

Edited by BurningWidow: 6/20/2024 11:13:04 PMI agree time gating the pass is dumb but....Playing games because there is a season pass is the most nonsensical reason to play a game. Just uninstall and reinstall MW3 if you enjoy watching a bar fill up for a few hours.
-
The Episodic Passes should stay when the next episode comes. I think removing them seems dumb.
-
Go ahead and take a break then, but don’t make any post about how it’s not fair that you can’t get something you missed out on.
-
just wait for the FOMO to kick in after
-
2 RepliesEasy solution, come back in a month and play it all in one sitting.
-
6 RepliesSo you rather run out of reasons in two weeks instead of one?
-
While it's a pain and I don't agree with it,I can understand why they did it.They needed to give us a reason to carry on through the acts and not just be able to collect the 50 levels worth of rewards the second it drops.
-
2 RepliesAre you talking about the season pass rewards or activities? Because of this rewards I don't understand what the problem is act one goes one through 100 like every season pass does. And if you're talking about when Act 2 starts according to the app it's in 5 days
