What about SOLO Players in the Final Shape?
I love the expansion, however, now I will be playing solo, which I do most of the times, and get to a point in a mission when I suddenly need someone to continue…. FRUSTRATING! I would make a plan of my busy time to achieve something in Destiny and now, all in a sudden I have to stop because I need another buddy … WTF. Bungie, plz help with this.

I think it's because Marathon won't have anything solo. Bungle is trying to force solo players to team up so that they'll suddenly discover that it's fun. It just proves how clueless Bungle management is. All they've done is deny me access to content that I paid for. I see no reason to support them in future. Playing solo is a choice, not a sign that I'm socially inept or afraid to play with others. I'm a veteran. I think that I can handle some snarky teenagers in a video game.

Dual Destiny, Microcosm, Ergo Sum Catalyst(locked behind 12 man with no match making), and even finishing guardian rank 7 now requires a non-match made activity where I could easily finish 7 before and 8 was just a matter of not being lazy. This has been the most non-solo friendly update they've ever done it seems like. Add to that most of the quests are super tedious and grindy now with added mechanics to just pad out playtime instead of making things more engaging and unique. As a solo player I don't really mind it that much, it's annoying to not be able to solo an exotic mission since I've been able to do all the other ones like Whisper, Outbreak, Seraph's Shield, etc. and I enjoy the gunplay/gameplay in Destiny, just at this point, once I get bored of the seasonal activity(which is already happening) I'll probably just be done/take a break for awhile. I won't be shocked to see their overall player numbers drop off again like after Lightfall given how bad the game is once you finish up the Pale Heart stuff. Campaign was mid and is being glazed as 10/10 just due to nostalgia and cutscenes and Lightfall being bad and the only really good things this expansion brought were the new subclass, the raid, and the 12-man post raid mission. Pale Heart was decent, but not as good as the Dreadnought IMO because it's far too linear and doesn't have many secrets outside of obvious glowing collectibles you don't even really have to look for. Even the region chests were lazily "hid" on the map in obvious spots, where in the past even with them being on the map I've had to look up videos for some of them.

I remember in D1 I used to wake up early every morning before work just to spend a couple of hours in game grinding for engrams. The game was actually fun in and of itself back then, even solo.

Vanilla D2 was all about a comprehensive campaign and the freedom to play with or without people and somehow bungie went backwards and ruined one of the game’s best selling points

Put a bad review in about the mission everywhere. I’ve heard that they’ve listened to the reviews in other places such as twitter.

1 ReplyJust accept a helping hand from another player. Then, afterwards, you can go full Han Solo again. Or you know, wait a really long time without access to the exotic class items in hopes of Bungie adding a way (if at all, it’ll be the end of the season) for “solo” players to get it.

The only people this game isn’t accessible is to entitled kids like you. I play mostly solo but when I see you need another person for the exotic class item, I looked for another person instead of crying online. I did the same when the raid came out and the same when the GM excision came out. You choose to play only solo then cry here that Bungie somehow is at fault.

1 ReplyBungie used to be King Of The Hill in The Lobby. The Couch Co-Op Multiplayer game had never been dominated so well. For some reason this Era of Bungie has lost all that. Us solo players don’t even have match making options let alone a “Lobby” anymore. We are left in the dust. Told to “just LFG, Brah.” And like I’m a 40 something year old dad. I ain’t got time to meet some kid’s criteria loadout just to join his fireteam. I miss The Bungie Lobby Couch.

33 RepliesIgnore the people telling you to LFG, fireteam finder, discord. That solves it only for that one mission. Put a 1 star review in for Destiny 2. Get all of your friends online and offline, get your family members, get everybody to put in 1 star reviews for it. Bungie will realize their reviews are dropping and wonder why. We can have our voices heard for once if this works.

Since you are more than likely talking about Dual Destiny, Here is my suggestion. Do the overflow stuff solo to have the node unlocked. Then just LFG it. That’s what I plan to do.

3 RepliesThere’s nothing you can’t solo in the campaign. What part of the campaign are you struggling with? Things like Dual mission, the raid and the new Gm you need a fire team.

I had 3 of those moments. Best thing to do is build into healing + use red death. Later on if you do the microcosm quest you’ll be set for anything without a surge

lfg in game that's all you need, and remember d2 is a co-op based game with for some reason majority of the content made for solo players

I’m running the Dual mission on Sunday. I’ve been told by several players I know that’s it’s an extremely fun experience. Sometimes you need to show basic flexibility to do certain things. BTW I play solo most of the time. Use LFG, ask a clan member, use Discord or ask here and you will get help to run that mission. Youre not making any effort on your end so your frustration is self inflicted. Youre in a clan with 98 other people. Maybe start there.

Or just accept that there may be things that you can't do because of your choice to play by yourself.

Actually… solo play has been catered to because once you complete the mission you can farm completely alone to your hearts content.

1 ReplyI’ve been back from vacation (all last week) was at 1940 after a few days I’m 1960. I’ve done everything on my own except for unlocking dual destiny. I did that with my kid. It takes a bit longer to get up to LL BUT you have to be will into to put in time.
