I wanted to use Destiny Tracker for my steam account to track my stats in the crucibles competitive playlist, but instead it only showed stats for my Xbox account which I haven't played on for a long time. I thought if I just unlink my Xbox account from my steam account it would fix the problem, but it just reset my whole steam account and I lost everything.

1 ReplyEdited by EckyThump: 6/18/2024 11:33:09 PMHey there. Your characters were created on XBox Live, and are permanently locked to that account. When you set cross-save up, these XBox Live characters became shared to Steam - each time you logged in on Steam and made progress, you were making progress on this XBox Live character set. By cancelling cross-save, you unshared the XBox Live account, reverting the characters, progress, etc, to being XBox only. What you then see on Steam was whatever you had before you set cross-save up, which sounds like it was nothing. The above is why tracker sites always brought up XBox Live, as it was the Active account in the cross-save. Your Steam game profile had no actual data, it was a dormant account, used only to access the linked XBox Live characters. So the characters would never show as belonging to Steam.
