TLDR : Titan is now significantly weaker with less prismatic synergy than either Hunter or Warlock and lacks viable DPS supers.
The Hunter and warlock builds are crazy strong in all difficulty levels of content with amazing synergy and insane DPS ability.
Titan just seems to be comparatively weak. Thunderclap spam with Skullfort is awesome in solo but in higher level or even just multiplayer if you don’t kill with thunderclap it’s gone, leaving you very vulnerable and reliant on Monte or Pugilist specials to fight to get your melee back before you die. Consecration build is strong but lacks return of melee so once it’s gone it’s gone and this simply isn’t the case with the other classes who get their abilities back in multiple ways.
Look at day 1 raid completions by class, less than 3% of players were titans and only 1% were top 500. This is partially down to the final encounter dps phase but if ranged only supers are needed then Titan is severely lacking. Nova unbuffed does more damage than TC Titan with cuirass, surely that can’t be acceptable!! And hunters are now the undisputed DPS kings with celestial and still hunt.
I feel they specifically avoided giving the Titan the best in slot abilities which they did not omit for locks and hunters.
Solar SC should have been bonk hammer no question meaning that Titan could spam powered melees and void melee should be shield bash for suppression, shield throw has always been poor in my opinion and I don’t often see other people use it.
Unbreakable feels more like a PVP perk and if swopped to controlled demo it would have been fire if it worked with ability kills like many of the other classes perks do.
Had the recent nerf to knockout not have been instigated that alone would have avoided a lot of these issues.
Twilight arsenal is OK as a ranged super but would have been better as a single shot, imagine if the Titan turned into an artillery cannon and landed an almighty shot instead! The axes left are weak compared to swords so not worth picking up save to throw and even then it’s likely not optimal, their only real benefit is to save ammo.
Add these issues to the plethora of huge nerfs Titan has had over the last two years (mainly because of PvP) and you’re in a situation where one class massively lacks power and is outclassed in melee by hunters who are supposed to be the sneaky agile class!!
I must make it clear that I am not asking for locks or hunters to be nerfed. I’ve unlocked Prismatic on all 3 and I love the builds on them both and want them to remain as strong as they are. I just simply want titans to be brought on par and I dont think I’m alone in this, in fact I’ve seen many comments on twitter saying similar things.
The ideal and easy fix would be: swop Hammerstrike to bonk hammer, Shield throw to void SC, unbreakable to Controlled Demolition and revert Knockout nerf meaning that all knockout punch kills count as powered kills.

1 ReplySwitch out knockout to juggernaut and drengrs lash to banner of war and I think everything would turn out fine. Hunters have stylish executioner Warlocks have feed the void Both of those are amazing starting aspects. Every class should have one amazing aspect on prismatic.
-
1 ReplyI did a raid with my clan and I did double the second highest person’s dps (golden gun hunter with edge transit) on Titan. However, Drengr’s Lash needs a PVE buff for area of effect and the arc and void aspects are garbage
-
1 ReplyTrue - Supers Need a Buff to compete in Raids …. Twilight is Nice but needs a bump Hamer Bonk and Shield Charge need to be back to unlimited uses And Stasis Power Melee needs to be deleted and something that can actually be useful put in …. that charge could miss a field of glacial quake ice … fire whoever made that call too lol 🫥

1 ReplyProbably because Titan builds were so dominant and broken with Strand's release in PvE. I never understood why they never were given a reliable from range DPS super.

2 RepliesPrismatic as a whole has very limited synergy. What they have is generally something Bungie specifically built for (Stylish Executioner, Bleakwatcher). Titan doesn’t have that to abuse. Titan’s new class item exotic has some good options, but they don’t work as well with what Titan has on prismatic as well. Bungie also created 2 new special weapon exotics that feel specifically designed around one of the subclasses for Hunter and Warlock. For Titan I’d: - Swap Drenger’s for Banner of war - Fix weird aggro issues with Unbreakable and up the void overshield regen - Fix the issues with Consecration not working with fragments. - Swap Shield throw for Shield Bash - Swap Hammer Strike for throwing Hammer Titans ate very well all last year. It’s okay if they’re not top dog for a little bit longer. So long as this improves eventually :)
-
2 RepliesI would also add, in case no one noticed. The cool down for frenzied blade is almost doubled on prismatic.

Edited by The icon of sin: 6/19/2024 7:26:43 PMTo match the hunter infinite melee and warlock infinite nades, titans need to get skullfort on the exotic class item. Return melee abillity on kill. Dont really care wich slot on the class item its on. The axes from twilight need to heal on hit or kill (both on throw and pick up)

2 RepliesEdited by Ghostfire239: 6/21/2024 6:15:21 PMAs long as Hunters don’t get nerfed in PvE, I’m all in favour of buffs for Titans. Not just on prismatic either. I think Wormgods, and Bonk hammer on solar should have the nerfs reverted. It was a cool playstyle a deserved to stay. I’m also down to see a bit of a buff to Thundercrash.

1 ReplyEdited by BaelorVII: 6/19/2024 8:58:40 PMI really love the new expansion for the campaign and all the things it added. And I was hyped to see how prismatic could fresh things up, but being a Titan main left me a bit confused. The video I added sums it up really good I guess. The overall design space for titans is very narrow. Yes there are times where titans excelled and were very enjoyable, but often it is the same thing in another flavour plus get nerfed multiple times. It is apparent that melee Playstyle is either very good or lacks much. It needs to be very good to be considered in endgame content and the moment u nerf it too much, it drops to not viable at all. Besides titans only have the melee fantasy, which is fun, but gets boring as only fantasy, Arc Hunter or prismatic Hunter is the best melee class. Both other classes have much more range in their design and as the video mentions prismatic brings this problem to the forefront. Titans have 1 build which everyone guessed before final shape dropped and that's it. And this build lacks survivability and got nerfed with knockout, which is still the best aspect for prismatic Titan. Even into the light and onslaught felt hard for Titans. If you wanted to lfg you had much more chance to find a team as warlock or Hunter and that was when the now best build was also available for titans consecration! And we you absolutely butchered bubble I will not start on, but before the last changes, it was rarely used in over. I see nothing, that would convince me to use bubble now. Titans are in dire need of new ideas and love. They feel very stale.

13 RepliesThey are still broken in pvp. You put any of the newer players on warlock and see how they do in pvp. They literally just run straight at you with more damage resistance, more flinch resistance, and punch anything to death. If that doesn't work and they actually almost die, they just pop a barricade and heal because it takes too long to break it or if you push they just shotgun melee you

I've been testing shield throw on void 3.0 and prismatic and it is not working like the final shape patch notes say. It only bounces to 3 enemies(if you are lucky) and with second chance equipped it only hit two enemies MAX and just disappears. The tracking seems to be Much worse as well. Please get this seen Titan mains! Also please let it return to us so we can catch it like hunters!
-
5 RepliesThere’s like 2 really good titan builds that every single person is using if they’re playing titan. Also every single titan build guides on youtube is almost exactly the same. While Hunters and Warlock got multiple different and useful builds to play with. I wanted to play titan more, but now Hunter is so OP, i just end up playing on there more.
-
It's wild to see Warlocks actually unleashed now and being useful in more ways than just being the group Well. It's also wild to see Titans lacking synergy and power in comparison to the others, titans have been hella strong for a while now. I do hope Bungie allow for more than just "I spam punch" in the future cause in harder content that's less plausible for most players since you get splattered like a bug in 1 hit from even sniper distance by some enemies.
-
It was easy to pick the titan aspects for prismatic because there’s a few that are used .001% whereas warlock and hunters were more balanced. Now we’re stuck with the 💩none of us wanted to use because they suck
-
I don’t like diamond lance or thunderclap So I’m using consecration which sucks against flying enemies…. Guess what there seem to be more of these days I’ve been playing my hunter of my titan for gunpowder gamble alone Titans need something, not sure what… maybe BoW and Titan stasis aspects kinda suck
-
I don’t really care much for prismatic… I’d prefer a buff for Ursa and Unbreakable.
-
17 RepliesEvery season “waaah buff titan “ smh
-
7 RepliesEdited by God Eater: 6/19/2024 8:21:44 AMAre we talking about the same prismatic titan that I'm jolting everything out of existence with hammer of the gods? Surely not the same Titan with consecration that I've used countless times to delete gm champions before they buffed it? Please take several seats for me please. Yes, hunter is stronger melee wise for some odd reason but that doesn't mean titan is hot garbage as a result.
-
Currently Titan is in terrible shape and this is true regardless of whether it is Prismatic or not. With the repeated nerfs and loss of build synergy, Titan now has no strengths. No matter how many strengths the current Titan states, a Hunter or Warlock can do better, that's how much of a difference it has made.
-
I’m a warlock main and agree 100% that prismatic Titan needs some serious buffs

6 RepliesEdited by whateverman7: 6/18/2024 5:41:38 PMWhat's with all the woah is me titan posts? Titans are fine, but I guess people need something new to complain about since the duel destiny uproar didn't catch on lol.
-
I must say I absolutely agree with everything in this post. Titans are just absolutely useless now compared to hunters and warlocks in all types of content whether it be PvE or PvP. It's quite depressing and disappointing to see how little love Bungie has given titans and how much they've made the other character types overpowered compared to Titans. Back in Destiny 1 titans were the best! Nowadays if you're a Titan you're nothing more than a meme with people saying "what's wrong with you" just because of your choice in character...
-
TL;DR Honestly, so far Prismatic is just straight trash. Combination Blow is the only good melee (my opinion) that Hunters have, since Knock 'Em Down isn't present for Knife Trick, and that's about as busted as dogshit. It doesn't work at all when you want or need it to, and the grenades all just straight suck. The best Hunters have is Grapple. At least the Warlocks get the Healing Grenade. Didn't Titans get Suppression? I know Hunters didn't get Storm.
-
Just did the 12 man grandmaster, I had to switch to my burning maul with pyro gauntlets because that was a titans best super. Still doesn't match up to what the other 2 have.
-
When isn’t the Titan not always drawing the short straw? We’ve always had to get it out of the mud. No fun for us.🤣
-
I would say Prismatic Warlock and Titan are about on the same playing field which is to say that they're primarily ad clear focused in practical use. It's at times like these I feel I gotta reiterate that unless it's a primary ad clear focused anything is absolutely useless in the grand scheme of things. Everything in the Witness's fleet is only vulnerable against precision damage which makes ability Warlocks and Titans have in their kit useless even supers, but Hunter abilities can crit so now they're absolutely dominant. Warlocks ONLY get tolerated in Salvation's Edge because of Well everyone else is expected to be a Hunter because they can turn out 8m damage in phase with Still Hunt and Nighthawk. If you're a Titan at the final boss you're 100% getting treated to charity work because any Titans cost you the one phase Must be nice being a Hunter main and getting to enjoy Prismatic properly because the sandbox designer is also a d*mn Hunter main. No semblance of balance at all between classes right now.
