Still cant get khvostov because of bug
I opened a support ticket day after release and they told me there is nothing they can do. Motes of light are bugged. I have killed every boss. stuck at 15 motes. They don't drop any more. So I am just not going to be able to get it?

I put my 16 motes in the vault then killed the meatball in the blooming. I now have kvhostov.

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out! If you haven’t acquired all of the Motes of Light yet, make sure you’ve collected and placed all Visions of the Traveler [b]as well as[/b] having defeated all Overthrow bosses in each area. If you’re missing the mote from the Taken Servitor boss, we suggest you try to eliminate it a couple times, making sure to return to Orbit between attempts. Please note, we’re currently addressing an issue where the triumphs tracking the defeat of Overthrow bosses are not working as intended. Therefore, please don’t rely on these Triumphs as confirmation of your successful defeat of all unique Overthrow bosses.

It’s actually really good. But I also feel the masterworks legendary version kicks butt when I wanna use another exotic in special or heavy.

There was so much overlap between this mission and that, it was difficult to understand what I still needed to do, or had already done - many times already?! 😵💫 Alone in the Dark / find this ghost / Traveler’s vision orbs / the other bits / follow this bird…no, that one…kill everything / overload this / that / t’other….😵💫😵💫 I was well and truly ‘Overloaded’…👈 It also appears that I’ve got everything else nearly done to unlock the Exotic AK47 - just need 1x boss in two zones. That’s doable. 🙂 Final note: the many tutorial vids I watched…the ghosts I was sure I’d already collected, but apparently had not, now appeared in different places - though in the same location?! 😵💫 Mention was made by another Guardian in this thread, about issues / glitches re motes (and ghosts, maybe?!) in the first week after launch…maybe it might help to double check all items were obtained, eg, the bits / ghosts / Alone in the Dark missions…🤔 Micha’s Quests: another helpful YouTube Guardian pointed out, when you get the fresh mission, hover over it b4 clicking to see how many ghosts / bits / etc. have been done. With all the bugs / glitches, and (possible) confusion, going around, it wouldn’t hurt to check it out! 👈 Anyhoo, that is all. Sorry this is happening to you. I feel your pain! This has been the single most frustrating quest I’ve done since D1 Alpha, and is sucking all the joy of playing the game. I’m missing one encryption bit, apparently have found all cysts, numerous ghosts, and feel like I have repeated everything numerous times. I have one cysts appearing on my map and no matter how many times I complete it, it never clears off my map!! Going to go watch a butt load of videos to figure out which cysts my missing bit is in. As someone who has worked in the software industry for years focused on documentation, Bungie could do a much better job at providing in game directions for quests. Good luck, fellow guardian!

9 RepliesI cant get the last motes of light I need as the cyst mission is stuck on sword dance and won't progress to the others. Was my own fault for going wandering after campaign and stumbling across the the mission without the quest and is nothing I can do about it now. Cant even do it on another character as progress is account wide

Uh... maybe? Have you indeed killed every boss? including that meatball guy? I had to kill that one several times before he dropped the mote i needed.

If you're sure you've killed all the bosses, you should check the visions. Cause you're missing 2 motes, which is odd, and makes it seem like you missed an activity.

2 RepliesMemory Vestages: light? or actual motes of light?? The memory Vestages are broken for me, I have 20, they keep going to the post master and they will not convert. the motes of light I get from finding ghosts, I have 6 now.

Simply killing all the bosses doesn’t get you the motes. You have to pick up the mote off the ground that the boss drops. Run it back.

I currently have 14 motes. Found all the Travellers, got all the encryptions from the cysts. Have killed each boss. I’m now having to grind Overthrow until they drop 🥲. I hate bugs/rng Bungie!!!!!!

The triumphs are bugged and do not actually need all 3 different bosses in each area and will complete for just killing 3 bosses in the area. The best thing to do would be to check if there are any visions you are missing and grab any you dont have, then go to an overthrow and stay in it until all 3 different bosses are dead, repeat until you have done all 9 different bosses

5 RepliesI lost track at a point to with the balls, thought i had them all. Redid them and found the one i missed. Could also be that you missed a cyst. When i am correct then you can see if you did the bosses. Afyer that i did the Meatball at the Blooming and it dropped. And i waited till they had fixed the meatball bug. And i didnt carry the legend Khvostoc, but it dropped anyways.

I had to kill each light barer again in the landing an the tormentor in the impass again.

I was pissed about this too, until last night. Been stuck at 16/17 motes forever. Kept killing bosses over and over and no mote. I then decided to go over to where the Khvostov chest is, and check to see if I had everything needed. Turns out I was MISSING one of the Travelers collectables...in the Divide! As soon as I went there and got it, boom....I have 17 motes now and the Khvostov.

I know for me, i was stuck at 15 and the triumphs said i killed all the bosses… but i remembered in the impasse i was waiting for a certain boss that i hadnt killed, but got another boss… i killed that boss, and the triumph filled in that i killed the boss i hadnt killed. So i didnt get a mote for that one. So when i remembered that… i went back to the impasse and waited til i got that original boss i hadnt actually killed, killed them, and got that mote… The last one was the meatball in the blooming that i finally got a few days ago. When i killed it, i got the exotic mote, thankfully. Now if you know you killed each individual boss, my bad… But if you are going by the triumph thing… it wasnt 100% right in my case, and may be your issue.

Same for me. I guess it’s trial and error. Or just luck. I got all the triumphs done, I should have everything. And yet I don’t. I’ll just do more overthrows. It’s all I got.

This is what I did - I had to make sure I was 100% certain I had everything done. Overthrows have 3 bosses at least. - So 9 in total (in theory some I can confirm i.e. the landing has 3 lucent hive bosses each at tier 4 don't leave the zone after you kill one you'll scuff the rotation). Make sure you kill all 3 per zone before you move to the next zone it can scuff rotations. Make sure you have all 9 regional chests. Make sure you have all the hidden artifacts from the Pale heart. (They're the mini travelers scattered around the Pale Heart). When you have your 17 motes your final one should come out as the exotic mote. Make sure you have all the ghosts as well from Micah 10.

Had the same issue, I put my motes in the vault and went back to the bosses that I thought might be the ones that missed the motes(One of the subs in the impass and the meatball boss in the middle area). I had to redo the meatball like three times and eventually it just gave me the exotic mote. It glitched and now I have all of the extra motes along with the khvastov. Im willing to help ya if you want
