I'm a solo player. I hated the idea of dual destiny being forced to communicate. But I wanted the class item. Found a guy on here to run me. Huge shout out to Souled Out. The enemy were easy. The only difficult part was the symbol call outs and that was because I had to have it pulled up on my phone and try to decipher them, call them out, and not die. The "clock" was easy except the boss fight one was a little tricky, but not bad. All in all, it wasn't as terrible as imagined. Still don't like the idea of it. But try it out. Plenty of people helping on here. After I run through it again and really understand it I may feel confident enough to take others.

2 RepliesYeah. not gonna lie I’m finding it hard to not be irritated by this decision. I’m sure it’s a good mission but it’s not even about that. It’s the item locked behind it. Just seems like a pretty powerful and important item to be locking behind a mandatory co-op mission. And look. My day job is retail so I have to socially interact on the regular as is. No reason they couldn’t at the very LEAST give it matchmaking and have mechanics that don’t require me to mic up. Mind you I have been had my fill of lfg searching. I have hundreds of “friends” on my account with 95% of them being someone I have played destiny with at one point or another. I just don’t feel like doing it anymore. Plus I have zero friends who play destiny. But boohoo me I guess.

Solo player tired of explaining what a massive undertaking using voice is for some people; still have my original Hymn buff from when that dungeon dropped; still haven't done it; I don't care. I'm not bad mouthing its design, forced interaction, whatever; I just won't have one. Oh well.

2 RepliesIt really doesn't matter if it's "not that bad". It was a dishonest ad campaign, pure and simple. I've done the fire team thing many times, but I'm not going to pretend that bait and switch was okay.
-
I did dual destiny with a friend. I'm a solo player aside from the few times he and I game together, and we breezed through it. We're both on console and I don't have a mic, so we couldn't really get the clock part done at the end of the mission, but it was still fun. In my opinion it was a little too easy, but, it is what it is. Fun mission, beautiful areas, 10/10 even though we couldn't finish.

7 RepliesI have like 30 guess what? Still annoyed every time i make a lfg in a game that runs it's lips about play how you want while not letting you. I could 100% do both rolls if a way to swap alignment was added. I never thought it hard, I'm not fond of people and i all ready group for raids, dungs, gms where it makes sense. Bungie can fk all the way off with the no option bs

I understand what you're saying and I'm glad you were able to complete it with with the help of Souled..shout out Souled.. But the mission should be available as a solo activity. Never liked carries and I should be able to do it on my own. I paid $100 to able to it on my own! But I don't think Bungie will make it available as a solo activity so I will be moving on to other games soon. They can do whatever they want with their game. I don't care for Bungie as a company, just like the game, but now I don't even like the game anymore because of what they did with the class activity. Good luck all!

Yeah, I have helped out a few people since it has come out & I am happy to help more if they would like it. So feel free to dm me or whatever. I will most likely be doing more runs tomorrow :)

7 RepliesI'm glad I was able to help, if you need help in the future feel free to reach out and ill see what I can do :)

bumping... thank you for being one of few solo players actually giving it a shot and putting your effort in before resorting to the forums. i agree how they did it was kind of mmmmm questionable, they should have at least made it to where it drops from pale heart without needing to do it and have a gaurenteed drop from the mission
-
4 RepliesI've been advocating for the solo players myself. But I've just ran it and wow I really enjoyed it. There are some good people on lfg myself and the other guy had watched videos, but never ran it. We failed twice but got it on the third try.
-
2 RepliesThank you for actually giving it a try. I’m starting to see a lot more posts like this and it’s crazy how this was blown out of proportion so much when the mission first dropped. So many people complaining about something they didn’t even try yet and it’s such a good mission. People please just actually give the mission a solid 5 or so tries then form your opinion after. Casual players, solo players, anyone, I promise you, if you actually try the mission, most of you will be able to complete it.
-
4 RepliesJust add matchmaking and let people deal with the mission on their own. Bungie should not be in the business of telling anyone what they can or cant do. If someone doesnt have a mic type the verbal queues and make it so we can see the chat. Anyone else can speak english into a mic.

6 Repliesliterally all this whiny -blam!- nerds complaining about possibily one of the best experiences bungie has ever made because they cant solo it acting like theyre totally gonna use the class items and farm for them in the first place. was so weird to me
-
2 RepliesIt's amazing. Glad you branched out. There's ways that first step toward doing a group and raiding. It's a fantastic experience. Seriously.
-
4 RepliesEstorick just "Soloed" it by playing on two consoles at the same time. Warlocks for the win.

Edited by Why am I here!: 6/17/2024 5:07:52 PMYeah I tried in LFG too no one wants to run it and it’s cool I don’t mind the other subclasses. I’m still having fun with the new prismatic subclass without the prismatic gear. It still cooks imo but who knows 🤷♂️ for others

4 Repliesits literally impossible to be a solo player in this game also the mission is easy as dirt if you have a brain

I kinda turned a corner on the discourse(stlll should have had a better source but you can’t undo things) so I’ve just been leveling up to make sure when I attempt it’s not a frustration fest. Mechanics don’t seem complicated and I can read a clock well and good so I’m not expecting a hassle. Just gotta get the pre-reqs done. Totally down for the GM Excision if it drops them though. Gonna be a -blam!- show but honestly should be manageable.

45 RepliesWhy is it so bad to have missions that you must have communication in a multiplayer social game?
-
My only complaint is the symbols. Can’t see the damn things even with my glasses! 😂 So my call outs are.. white with black thing at bottom. 😂😂
-
It’s really not a bad mission, I find it enjoyable to be honest. But people on here just like to regurgitate what they’ve seen on other posts and complain without ever trying the activity for themselves. So good on you for actually trying it out and congrats on the completion.
-
l tried it with a pro my problem was l couldn't see the tiny symbols my eyes aren't what they once was. so I'm left out also.unless bungie makes the symbols way bigger. it's unfortunate was fun up to the tiny symbol part.
-
Same here took me two tries had to lock in now I know the symbols the clock part was tricky but we got it done but the last boss fight super easy especially if one person call out their number.
-
Good post Pleased you got it done. There are plenty of others out there willing to help

Honestly enigma protocol for the pinnacle is worse than dual destiny imo. I don’t even really get the difficulty with enigma protocol for what it gives. Then again enigma protocol is exactly the type of crap done by year 1 nightfalls which were thrown out for a reason.
