Why does Destiny 2 require knowledge of Raid symbols, to acquire the Exotic Class Item.
I've played(been carried) thru 2 Vow of the Disciple completions. I never learned the symbols! Are you saying I now have to learn a set of Hieroglyphic Symbols, to get a Class Item that, EVERYONE wants?! Good job guys. Let's separate the Divide between Solo players & people who are fortunate enough to have friends, even further with this "Multi-Player" mission! Thanks for the 10 years! Great way to cap it off for me.

You dont have to learn the symbols, put a copy of it on a tablet or print a sheet of paper out and your good.

If you refuse to put 30 second of brain power into learning something, no matter how trivial it is. Then you don't deserve to have the class item. These forced co-op missions are the best content bungie has ever released, and maybe, just maybe, it'll finally kill off all these players that think they can play every activity solo in an MMO.

It's not a hard mission. Just have the symbols on your phone so you can atleast have an idea what you are shooting at.

We SHOULD have more easy activities like Duel Destiny that introduce players to raid mechanics. Help players get used to common mechanics in hard content

1 ReplyPeople who ran the raid didn’t know the symbols at first either. Some things take practice but people will get the hang of it. I’m fine running with people using descriptions as will. The only thing I’m inflexible on in that mission is the clock. It’s an analog clock and I refuse to use any alternative numbering scheme 😂.

It just makes it easier if you already know the names. 2 people I helped through didn't know the symbols. Earth was "planet with white orb on top" Drink was "white guy holding a triangle and a circle" (this one surprised me because I didn't actually know there were shapes in the hands) Witch queen was "it's green and it kind of looks like an A and a W mixed together" Just describe it, you have plenty of time If you need a hand doing the mission I can help you out if you want? I dont know the symbols, nor do the other two people that I beat the mission with. We just say what we see, and describe it. "S", "Witch symbol", "Forsaken", "Black sun"... It may take slightly longer than the official names, but it works and I think many non-raiding people have gone through in similar ways and done it without failing due to the symbol names. If you plan to regularly run it, you will get used to the symbols, and probably learn the real names looking at a cheat sheet. I know more now after running a few times and then looking at the chart to know the real names. (worm, savathun, scorn, darkness).

The whole "players who have friends vs. those who don't" excuse is weak tea. It doesn't require a [b]friend[/b], only one other player.

I mean, the only time pressure you're under is the mission timer, so you absolutely have time to describe what you're seeing to your partner Or you could look up Destiny 2 Vow Symbol Cheatsheet
