Pathfinder needs a little work

So far the system has been great for the pale heart and pretty good for the playlists. Today though I ran into a few bad challenges for pathfinder. The last 2 nodes for this pathfinder is ability kills in crucible (a lot of them) or win a match and bank the most motes in gambit. These two are awful nodes that are keeping me from finishing. I’m not a big crucible fan and gambit it okay but 10 matches of gambit and 5 crucible games and these two are still gatekeeping me from finishing. Got the most notes but lost every game of gambit. Tried to get ability kills in crucible but my gun or my teammates get the kill. I’m competing with both the other team and my own team for these activities. Please change these nodes at the end or give us three options so I can play my preferred activity at the end of a pathfinder (vanguard/ nightfall).

  • Didnt they also increase ability cooldowns when they adjusted pvp a couple months ago? Why make a challenge like that?

  • I had the exact same thing and the gambit nodes are buggy as hell. Banked 50 motes in a game and won with my clan mates and game says I banked 6 motes... Meanwhile, today, another node says as a fireteam kill 5 guardians, I got it done after 15+ guardian kills across 3 different games.

    • Yeah, I Completed all pathfinder nodes except final with 1 run of a strike. Im like sweet maybe pathfider aint so bad then i look what's deposit 100 motes im gambit or play pvp for ability kills. Alright try gambit get the win and lead with 32 deposits should of completed the node but NOPE! You only get credit for 6 motes. INFURIATING!!!!!!!!!! Ok calm hate pvp but I'll give it a go. All i do is run headling i to groups of wnemies tryong to get mele ability kills. I get 12 this amounts to 10% completion. 😡

    • I hate having to jump through screens to pop the challenges or check on progress, if I'm working on multiple challenges. Also it's dumb I have multiple challenges line up for 1 activity, but it's broken up by 1 random challenge for a different activity. Also some of the challenges are not balanced at all, like get 6 grenade kills in pvp or kill 100 blockers.

      • Yeah, this is absolutely trash-tier design; these same kill-based issues were present and repeatedly pointed out with Bounties. And making it so that you cannot complete a Path with just one playlist is beyond dumb as a choice given the goal of Pathfinder ("Do the content YOU want to do") Pathfinder has promise, but how did so many decisions that run counter to that promise make it in? And why is Pale Heart Pathfinder so much better, with none of these design issues?
