There's so much to say about the DLC, Final Shape. For what happened before, during and after the release of the DLC. I had high hopes that the dismal results of Final Shape's pre-sales would have tipped you off, but in the end, that wasn't the case.
You either didn't get the gist of the message the players were trying to convey, or you just couldn't decipher it.
For my part, I found a strength in the campaign, its epic and grandiose aspect. Unfortunately for you, the only thing that reinforced this aspect was the magnificent and incredible 3D cinematics, which we haven't seen in a long time.
Everything in FinalShape seems bland after all. We continue to traverse paths with slightly different enemies, with slightly different abilities, and not face a slightly different boss. ALL the game's activities do exactly the same thing. All the time, everywhere and, above all, for the same reason: to collect the same items, the same weapons, the same clothes.
For Final Shape, you tried something different, like the path. Less contract, more path. But they are contracts, in a different form.
Why on earth didn't you push it further, stronger, more powerful?
Why not add a way to pay lumen or whatever to improve the path, make it more difficult, more challenging with better rewards?
Why not extend this promising path to other aspects of the game, such as deeds?
For the Shape finale, we're in the traveler. Well, here we are... after all this time, I'm going to get some answers... Did you say we'd have answers? After all, isn't this the end of the light vs. darkness story arc? No, it was the end of the guardians versus the witness. Nobody's talking about this story. The traveler is the traveler, again. Darkness is darkness, again. This DLC leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Let's talk about quality of life. The path, which is a hell of an access, with a series of manipulations to do to land in the right validation menu. The birds for modifying the cyst are not marked on the map and are confused with the birds that show us the way. The FailSafe mission in the act, where you have to collect pebbles while your colleagues in the squad who haven't understood launch the mission, forcing you to leave the area.
If, at first, the DLC seems exceptional, the more time I spend on FinalShape, the more I think FinalShape is, for me, a huge miss.

Edited by FireStriker: 6/19/2024 5:54:33 AMI find the final shape to be amazing but echoes to be a bore. Its better then season of defiance but its not what was promised in the showcase. TFS is what destiny has needed in so long that its ok to walk away after beating the witness, we won.

4 RepliesBruh, you’re part of a small fringe group of a couple of hundred people that TFS didn’t meet their standards. The overwhelming majority of the community is absolutely loving TFS and it’s endgame. TFS has some of the highest review numbers of the franchise.

1 ReplyMy biggest issue with Bungie's DLC (the proper ones) is that they all feel like one long tutorial for a new class and because of that it never feels immersive. I would have much rather preferred that the story was created on it's own - and not built around a new class. Another thing I don't get is why they crank out so many things at the same time. It should be in their interest to milk this a little but instead of spreading things out they're dropping the raid just a couple of days after launch and then Echoes Act 1 just a week after. Even in a world where it's a perfect launch - with no network issue and everything goes as planned - it's just too much at once. I think a lot of people are rushing through things just for the sake of not falling behind. And it's even worse if youre a returning player and already have 50 quests in the log.

1 ReplyThe problem is bungie tried to make an emotional story to draw players in just like lightfall but ended up make a Meh story with most the emotional parts spoiled by trailers, and the characters doing the dumbest things possible for plot rather than what's logical. For example: Zavalas whole doubt story arc was completely pointless as his emotional past was already wrapped up back in season of the haunted and by doing this they basically undermined that whole seasonal story. Furthermore everything he gained from his near darkside conversion was pointless as all he learned was that we need to go to the witness tower, which we were already heading to anyway. So basically his ghost died for no reason.

1 Replybungie knew as long as the campaign & raid were good, people would slurp them off regardless. they intentionally set the bar low with lightfall so they could release the actual expansion meant to release in its place and score brownie points. voila, that's exactly what happened. destiny addicts & bungie sycophants won't critique this expansion until they're out of the honeymoon phase.

for the first time, 8 days after the launch of a new dlc, I just don’t want to play this... Although it would seem that there is so much to do, but I’m already tired of it and it has become even more of a routine and a tired passage, and also the mission for a class item was simply blocked and this was the last straw and I returned to Diablo... I didn’t think that games from blizzard would be a better choice even from bungie!!

Huh? That was a while back. Pre-orders skyrocketed up until release https://dotesports.com/destiny/news/destiny-2-the-final-shape-pre-orders-skyrocket-in-the-lead-up-to-expansion-launch

Edited by A_mo: 6/15/2024 2:22:48 AMIts a very well rounded DLC and Pathfinder can definitely grow and change over time. Just like similar engagement or QOL based things that have been added to the game. There is one bird, or at least one bit that I'm having trouble finding and some other people seem confused about portions of the khostov mission but that might be more of a player side issue. Of course there's some subjective aspects to whether or not portions of the DLC are hit or miss but overall it seems to be getting basically the best reception since Forsaken. Plus there seems to be quite a bit more on the way. And they even brought us the "first" 12 person mission. So there's a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to as well.
