The Way to get Exotic Class Items is obnoxious and a Middle Finger to all Semi / Casual Players!
So after searching around on Reddit and multiple Discords here is the CHANCE to get your Exotic Class Items:
- Locked behind clearing Overthrow
- You need to kill a Secret Keeper that has a random Chance to spawn or not
- Follow the golden Light to the Refraction, head inside the Crystal and get the "Savathuns Envoy" Buff
- in the 6! Minutes Span head to the Destinations marked and kill two Subjugators and Deposit what they Drop back where you got the Buff
- Locked behind another sweaty Exotic Mission that needs a Premade Team of 2 People
So i as a Semi Casual Player have multiple Problems with this:
-Your Secret Keeper doesnt spawn? Sucks to be you redo the Overthrow. Oh didnt spawn again? Well you know what to do! I ran this mindnumbing activity 6 times and did not see a single keeper - absolutely demotivating!
- The Activity to achieve the unlocking of the exotic mission, is mindnumbingly boring combined with the randomness of the secret keeper spawning or not is absolutely not engaging and fun gameplay
- 6 Minutes is too short of a timeframe for a lot of players that arent your beloved streamers or sweaties
- The Mission is way too hard for something that was placed as a selling point of this expansion
- Solo Players get shafted
This is just a Slap in the Face for every Player who isnt a Hardcore Grinder and absolutely demotivating to continue to play.
Edit one day later:
To all the Players who maybe just flew over the post and insisting the keepers are a 100% save spawn: I and others have done multiple Overthrows and the Message you note DID NOT SHOW UP = NO KEEPER!
I understand that its eaay to dismiss this, but just because it didnt happen to you doesnt mean others did not have that experience.
Do you think coming home after work and running overthrow over and over again is fun and engaging Gameplay? No its not.

Im hating this a lot, i've completed everything, everything, yet the secret keeper doesnt spawn at all, it doesnt matter how many times i complete the overthrow. I almost always defend bungie when people throw -blam!- at them, but this is impossible to defend I work more than half the hours a day has just to keep trying this -blam!-

You start with 2 other people and then in the middle of this whole “adventure” you have to kick out 1 player as the 2nd part of the quest was made for 2 people only 😂😂😂 Fyi… kicking out someone in the middle of an activity is a -blam!- move bungo. Most solo players won’t be able to get this item once. Congrats Bungo for showing to all solo players a middle finger 🖕with this quest.

Every single raid in the game is dog -blam!- then I guess? Because you can’t solo any of them without glitches or exploits, so obviously it’s terrible content and you deserve to have every reward from them handed to you, right? Oooooooor just use the in game LFG bungie specifically made for solo players and, get this, do hard content to get good rewards?

I want to point out that two of the three areas I cleared Overthrow in also didn't give me the message. However, the Keepers still spawned when I looked around. I dunno if you just waited for them message and didn't bother when you didn't see it or not, but it's apparent there's a bug that prevents the message from appearing in some cases.

And people wonder why so many play solo,well just reading some of these answers make me feel sick. the toxicity in here is obnoxious. 1 thing ive learned playing this game for 10 years,people are selfish and rarely think about others and its disgusting.

Most players (casual, hard core) who do end-game stuff can and will be able to play the game WITHOUT the exotic class item. Also, a lot of casuals don't even raid, so why would they need this extra perk? The perks can only be useful in end game stuff like raids, GM or similar. I seriously doubt we will have LFG post similar to "must have gally" but for exotic class item with specific rolls. I am a part time, casual D2 player. If I get this item, then I can only see it being useful in stuff that I don't do that often. So, as a casual, not a massive miss for me.

You want to talk about casual? I haven’t even finished the story yet… when I do I will figure out a way to get the class item. You only have to do the mission once apparently and after that it supposedly drops from world chests? Sounds worth it to me.

Everyone like us just needs to leave the game for good. There are a lot of great games out there that respect your time and money. I left the game for years came back for this and my goodness do I regret it. Will not be coming back again.

After i saw the vids on the class item .. i didn't even bother to log in yesterday, or today. Time and time again they are introducing over complexity that should only be in raids and dungeons. Thats where Laura Croft and Indiana Jones belong.

In the first clock part, it's 2 thirds of a clock, so you can't call the numbers out the same way you do at the end clocks. So that's needlessly confusing. But that's not even the worst of it. The fact that you'd have to run this garbage mission more than once for these exotic class items will see probably less than 1% of the player base actually having them. No one in my clan wanted to run this again after doing it the first time. Bungie -blam!- up.

8 Repliesok so: doing an activity = locked behind it secret keeper is a 100% spawn and easy to find 6min is plenty to go kill 2 minibosses everything before that is a 1 time deal getting 1 guy to help is too much yall just dont want to play the game. the mission is super fun lfg it but hey. i get it. because solo lost sectors are so fun right?

1 ReplyThey spawn in specific locations, the 6 minutes is fairly generous because the location of the subjugators isn't far from the dunk location. if you're in a clan how hard is it to ask any one of them to run it. The missions timer is decently generous as well as no darkness zone easy to reset upon both team mates going down.
