Why would bungie make a a piece of armor that everyone will want so difficult to get , a stupid 2 man exotic mission with no matchmaking, another activitie that a paid a cant play

Edited by Ripps: 6/21/2024 6:50:54 PMthere should be a way to acquire this exotic, by playing solo. period.

10 RepliesBungo… Who TF created this RIDICULOUSLY IDIOTIC quest??? You start with 2 other people and then in the middle of this whole “adventure” you have to kick out of the people as the 2nd part of the quest was made for 2 people only 😂😂😂 Fyi… kicking out someone in the middle of an activity is a -blam!- move bungo. Most solo players won’t be able to get this item once. Congrats Bungo for showing to all solo players a middle finger 🖕with this quest.

12 RepliesEdited by TeKnoVKNG23: 6/11/2024 9:58:13 PMSo I'll be honest, I kind of had this sinking feeling during the campaign(which was confirmed watching the Raid) that they are going back in the direction of Lightfall in terms of catering to the more elite level players/streamers who have been asking for much harder content for awhile now. When I saw Aztecross just get the class item and it got revealed that you can't do it w/o friends or LFG it just reaffirmed that to me. I feel like once the nostalgia of the campaign/cutscenes has worn off, and the seasonal grind/loop begins again this week and into next, we're just going to see the same old complaints and same old problems from Destiny 2/Bungie. I understand wanting/needing harder content for the top end players, but Bungie still doesn't seem to understand that 85-90% of their playerbase just want to chill and shoot stuff in this cool sci-fi universe that they've created and the more they alienate these loot items they've been hyping for months, the worse the feedback is going to be. How they haven't learned this yet at this point is beyond me, especially with how poorly Lightfall was received just from the aspect of the higher difficulty in the patrol zone.
-
18 Repliessimple. money. trying to force..i mean 'encourage'... people into modes they don't want to participate in. not realizing that a good segment of the player base just wants to....how did they put it?....oh yeah....'play their way'. guess they were just kidding......*sigh*

4 RepliesHonestly there should have been a path for it solo as well. Not complaining and I’ll probably get around to it eventually, but something like that needed a better “barrier of entry” than the mission requires.
-
1 ReplyTinfoil hat theory, to boost views for content creators videos on how to beat it, best loadouts, to PUSH people to those same creators Discord to join and find "help" , or to their streams for raffle carries and helps. Kinda messed up and the forums are on fire tonight with anger. Bungie might have made a very very bad game design choice here.

No trinket exotic is worth suffering for me. Video games are there for fun. I remember wanting Whisper, which wasn’t that hard to get, and finding the mission super boring for me. Gave up. Got it later anyway , so it goes to show the point

1 ReplyI agree brother. This is complete -blam!-. The more I play the game the more it just feels like a chore. The space magic is gone. The episode also feels very mediocre and stale as with all other previous seasons. Even with Failsafes comedic relief it just isn't hitting anymore. RIP my favorite franchise. You died with the Witness.
-
Every single raid in the game is dog -blam!- then I guess? Because you can’t solo any of them without glitches or exploits, so obviously it’s terrible content and you deserve to have every reward from them handed to you, right? Oooooooor just use the in game LFG bungie specifically made for solo players and, get this, do hard content to get good rewards?
-
Find a group. Not hard to find a group and you know talk to others like humans. Is that hard? I understand people have issue but you can due it if you really wanted it then you’d get it. Nothing you pay for in the game is guaranteed and not all content is for just solo players. Not even a solo game. It’s an MMO. Stop complaining and go earn it. Sorry not sorry at all.

Titan your cabals and try again Guardian!

Do it once, then farm it solo in the Pale Heart. Weh weh wah wah I never play with anyone I’m a lone wolf everyone sucks but me weh weh wah wah how dare they add a 2 player activity in an expansion about duality, combined subclasses and an exotic item with 2 watered down exotic perks Weh weh wah wah how dare they *loads up 3 player Nightfall* I’m a solo player!!!! Friends are for losers!!!!
-
My biggest problem with this mission isn't anything but the symbol mechanic from vod it is the worst mechanic ever in destiny history. I never played vod for that much for that reason and now this whole thing g is dry humping that to infinity

6 RepliesAt least should have matchmaking, if they can join 3 random players surely they can do it for 2 as well.
-
Ah. I should have known it wasn't gonna be obtainable solo. That's a shame
-
Agreed. This sucks
-
1 ReplyThe solo thing and the fact it’s only a two man and not a traditional 3 man activity makes zero sense. Every other exotic mission had a 3 man fireteam and solo option. Why is this any different? The exotic class item does not work outside of prismatic also. Like who thought restricting the amount of people who can do it/ have in a fireteam baffles me.
-
Yeah it’s a shame. I don’t mind the difficulty but using lfg to do the mission will be a pain in the -blam!-. But hey, another carry service streamers can sell. As long as they’re happy and saying good things about the game Bungie will survive.

4 RepliesI never write reviews or comments on streamer YT posts. But I totally agree, Bungie advertised this to everyone in the marketing materials. I'm a solo player and fine with not obtaining hard-to-get exotics that I wasn't expecting to get anyways (e.g., Wicked Implement that wasn't hyped in the Lightfall materials or some new Raid weapon like Euphony) that isn’t game play defining. This is a Class item that fully supports prismatic, the massive selling point of the game. I'll put up with LFGs that don't require comms, because that can be VERY hit or miss, to get an exotic I want (e.g. Zero Hour). Will I try this mission, yes, but I know I'll have to get very lucky with my matched teammate. I don't even own a gaming headset and text chatting on console is extremely painful, let alone during combat and with a timer! And in game LFG for these items falls off dramatically the longer it is from when the item has dropped (e.g., light leveling per person is all over the place ATM). Imagine LFG for Vexcalibur now (I did just before TFS and it was a ghost town). Ergo Sum exotic quest should have been the Class exotic quest. And if Bungie wanted the larger community to use Raid/Dungeon mechanics they could have eased us in using another exotic quest vs. prismatic.
-
3 RepliesThey used these exotic class items to sell us on the DLC. Some transparency would have been nice, "Make sure you have a friend who also owns the Final Shape and is competent at running timed exotic missions."

You paid to gain access to the game, not for the rights to have all things in the game given to you. Declaring that you're entitled to everything in the game because you paid for it is like buying Elden Ring and saying you're entitled to beat Malenia just because you own the game. That's not how it works. Further more, people who play solo, or don't play often, or aren't particularly skilled, or don't want to/cant use a mic, etc. are not entitled to be given god roll comp weapons, exotic armor, or god roll dungeon/raid weapons just because they want them. The reason highly coveted weapons and armor are tied to end game content is to make end game content worth doing. If nothing special was tied to those activities then interaction would plummet, and people who want to challenge themselves would see no reward for effort. Also, part of the game is solving puzzles using multiple people, so communication is occasionally a requirement. And while they can make the game accessible to things like disabilities, not at a sacrifice to the experience of 99.9% of other players. That is a net-loss for the overall experience for the vast majority of players. Finally, most of the solo players complaining about this stuff aren't doing master dungeons, solo GMs, raids, etc. anyways, they can't since they're solo. They're doing seasonal activities and strikes, where any build with any exotic and any weapon will work perfectly well to get the job done. Do they really need a special hard-to-acquire exotic that would let them kill 300 enemies in 10 minutes in an activity they'd normally beat in 15 minutes anyways? No. Slap on an arc hunter with liars handshake and a trinity ghoul. Congrats, you just beat all the stuff you play day to day. Xur sells that stuff every week. Sincerely, - A casual player who gets on once a week tops.
-
You’ve got all kinds of access to it. You make a choice to not use it. In fact you are making a choice to NOT do something you paid for.
-
You can play it though, you're the only thing preventing that.
-
23 RepliesIt's Bungie logic. They advertise new content stating that new exotic class items can be earned to get players hyped up. They don't say it's a 2 man mission with no matchmaking, so they expect people to either use lfg, teamfinder or whatever, OR hope that you get a friend to buy the game. It has the opposite effect when people don't bother or walk away and stop playing altogether.
-
2 RepliesJust found out you only need to run it once then they will drop from chests in the Pale Heart. Annoying I know, but at least you don’t need to run it a bunch of times.
