I think that blocking guardian's path to rewards with "Get X kills in Gambit with X" is a bad idea all around.
First, the people who hate gambit feel like they're forced into something they don't want to play. So they jump in, get their "X kills with X" over n done with, then leave.
Second, those who DO want to play gambit, can't enjoy Gambit because their games are flooded with teammates jumping in, getting their "X kills with X" over n done with, then leaving.
...
Lose/Lose.
Unintended Consequences
You can lead a guardian to gambit but you can't MAKE HIM PLAY.
Pathfinder Only incentivizes ruining Gambit.

Honestly, I'd be down for it if both it and the normal bounties could exist together. The pathfinder system is fun for locations like Pale Heart, but it doesn't work for ritual activities that well.
-
agreed. the whole ritual pathfinder is a joke. i enjoy playing what i want, when i want. that was the whole idea they were pitching in the dev videos when they were discussing the pathfinder. now, im not going to even bother...
-
It’s idiotic that they tied crucible and gambit into the same system as the vanguard ops. I’ll never complete a pathfinder there because it always has a gambit/crucible blockade and I won’t debase myself paying that trash.
-
Agreed, Pathfinder is horrible and I feel like some low level dev was like "how about this?" And the lead designer who shall not be named was scrolling on his phone hungover that particular day and didn't even look up from his coffee and just said "yeah whatever" and dismissively waved him away and we ended up with this crap pathfinder that most people hate and cannot stand to deal with.
-
They should scrap gambit and turn it into a 12 man activity hoard/objective mode.
-
Yeah this sucks I get the kills needed in gambit than leave I will do gambit but crucible is a hard pass

1 ReplyOr you go down the other path no one is forcing you to play gambit

Gotta love how Bungie forces you into that cursed crucible or play gambit, so it comes down to the lesser of two evils. Oh, and it's more extending artificially the game play time.

2 RepliesBest mode. Just needs more maps and new enemies and bosses.

3 RepliesEdited by an engram full of bees: 6/10/2024 9:52:18 PMAs a gambit lover, I am so happy that all of you have to play gambit now Because it means that it doesn’t take so long for me to load into a nice crisp gambit match
-
Gambits not even bad, I don't see why people hate it
-
You can't make it drink but you can drown it.
-
I played gambit and for 75% of my games I was on top of the leaderboard and I’m terrible at PvPvE but I’m just surprised I was on top
-
2 RepliesBut you can make it go around.. I did several resets of a path and, if I remember correctly, it was always possible to avoid one ritual list completely. So, you can’t go vanguard only but you can avoid Gambit. Just a longer path. For me it’s faster then the bounty’s. Just wish I could load into vanguard solo, nowadays it’s hard to get gun kills with this total ability mayhem. 🖖

3 RepliesHmm, did they add new maps to Gambit? If they didn't add new maps after 4 years of doing nothing with it, other than removing maps and tying Pathfinder to it only to show numbers. That is just wrong...
-
7 RepliesEasy fix. Stricter punishments for leavers. Make it so quitting out of an activity means you can't start another activity (any, even the tower) until the quit activity ends. Keep it available to rejoin (if the spot hasn't filled). But they still can't do anything until that activity ends.

2 RepliesHorses are strong animals, capable of carrying many motes. Unfortunately, due to their clumsy hooves, they struggle in a Collector role. Their large size makes stealth difficult, so Invader is rarely the best option. They are also unsuitable for Sentry, due to being easily spooked. Personally, I’d give a horse the Reaper role and take advantage of their ability to trample at speed.

It could certainly use a polishing up. But hey, at least it's quick and only take like 5 minutes a match. Used to take sooooo long

The same can be said about any other activity in the game. While in a strike today one player decided to depart right before the boss room. I had used my super and whacked the boss with a number of heavy attacks, but the other player was dead (as usual) and then the enemies started flooding in. With the light level on each of these activities being 1,945 (I believe) and all players being under leveled, it's sort of like going through a nightfall. If one player leaves it can make completing any activity impossible.

3 RepliesEdited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 6/11/2024 9:51:14 AMFor me, it looks like Bungie is having problems exciting players for activities like Crucible or Gambit. That's the reason for the forced path. I haven't played Pathfinder so far, but the limited choices make it for me already unattractive. Nevertheless, I will check it out.

The only game mode I actually enjoy playing. I wish more games would adopt a game mode like Gambit. I’d come back to Destiny just for that mode only.

1 ReplyLol . I refuse to play….it’s so bad compared to how it first was when it first dropped . It’s so sad now …a one round one mode activity. Massive ball drop right there .
-
That’s bungie trying to force feed the playlist.
-
I need to put this game mode out of its misery, if there not gonna fix it just kill it, vault it maybe in act 2 just kill drifter and get rid of gambit. You make the game mode worse and worse every time you touch it it’s time to give up on it
-
Sad part this is the most attention gambit has been given in years. An old map back and needing gambit for pathfinder. The game mode needs some serious love for people to want to play it. Maybe new modes and old maps back

6 RepliesGambit was awesome and when it first came out. Then ppl whined like -blam!- when their asses got handed to them by X, then Y, then Z. Bungie implemented one b i t c h catch up mechanic after another and ruined the damn thing.
