Fill "the pale heart" with guardian life.
Fill "the pale heart" with guardian life.
It took me a while to realize why the new locations feel so boring after a while. These new places are even more lifeless than Neomuna ever was. Where are all the other guardians? Guardians can be found on every planet and place, just not here. Sometimes it's a lot of fun to spontaneously take part in a public event with other guardians.
The pale heart is so beautifully designed, but without other guardians it feels boring and soulless. Even on the moon, many guardians still take part in the effortless killing of a few after-work enemies.
And I wish the pale heart could become such a place too.
Please rethink this false design decision and fill "the pale heart" with life.

Having said that I go to the EDZ to run patrols, run weapons bounties, relax, ect for one reason and one reason only, there's other Guardians. I know theres a lot of 'those' kinds of people that enjoy empty areas but thats NOT what being a Guardian is all about. It's about the Traveler, clans and fireteams (I know that sounds hypocritical based on my opening clause) but the Pale Heart more then any place in the Destiny universe should be [i][b]FILLED[/b][/i] with Guardians! [u]Oh and a GIANT statue of Cayde should be placed somewhere truly magnificent in The Pale Heart surrounded with chickens![/u]

Having a solo option “and” an option to return to free roam guardians in the area would be a plus for all. I don’t mind initially exploring, but I would get bored of that pretty quickly. After the disaster of bullet sponge Neomuna, some of us could use a new cool “public patrol” area to enjoy.

I feel they should’ve made it that you have the option to play with it open or private. Not every1 has friends who play destiny like that anymore. Not every1 bought the expansion as well.

19 RepliesIdk, it is full of little events and puzzles. Fill it with guardians and they’ll start tripping each other up. Just enjoy it for what it is. We have lots of other public patrol zones.

Nah I’m glad they made the experience personal for me after the long journey through the light and dark saga. It loads quicker and I don’t see annoying kids jumping up and down while I’m running missions or exploring. You can get match making for the main activity and that’s good enough for me.

I hope they do not change this. I like the solo instance. If you want other guardians to play with there is the matchmaking version you can Que up for.

I’m glad it’s solo.I can do the events as designed and get the bonuses to shorten the time spent. No arc souls,no stasis walls.There are plenty of other areas the needy can hang out and “be seen”.

1 ReplyI agree, to a degree. But as many others have said, I also enjoy the solo part of it. When I teamed up with a clanmate to do Overthrow, someone else was there. We certainly did not do the match made overthrow. It was surprising to see someone else there. No idea how that happened. Anyway, I am glad that Bungie made the pale heart a little more personal but you still have the option to bring in a friend or two.

I like the way the Pale Heart is. It's a great place to complete Banshee's bounties without having to go into the same lost sectors over & over. And if you want to play with other people, invite your friends to a fireteam or use the overthrow matchmaking node.

I personally enjoy how it is to be honest. It's more engaging for me to take a second to figure out how the lucent hive portal ritual things work for myself. The mechanics are surprisingly diverse

4 RepliesI love doing the Onslaught mission solo. It’s fun and challenging, but not like crazy hard. I can mostly turn my brain off and zone out, with just a smidge of challenge.

8 RepliesUpvoting this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/264008609?sort=0&page=0 There's alot of people 'defending' a private patrol area because they feel 'entitled' on every mob they see despites mob respawning etc. Bungie, Please stop turning this into a singleplayer game. Dont go this direction. Public Patrol area's where fun because you could randomly start playing events with other people.

Just remember that Lightfall was actually rated highly the first week and that Neomuna was praised by a very vocal group of elitists and it still failed to provide revenue. What does this mean? It means right now the BDF is beating their chests about how great everything is and how great the location is, but that means nothing in the long run. The real determining factor in this DLC's success will be whether or not it has legs, and that can only be determined by replayability. It's definitely better than Lightfall in every way, But so was Witch Queen, and yet the greatly reduced QoL that came with that expansion started the slump that Lightfall exacerbated. I'm still on the fence. Parts of the campaign was a rehashed old story that wasn't compelling even when it was new. Even more boring was the old "find the fire team" garbage that was old when Mass Effect first came out. The last two missions that actually dealt with the Witness and the subjugators (who we bought the DLC to play against) were pretty good. The 12 man activity is fun too. The exotic "adventures" were okay. The exotics and the new weapons are really good. It's a mixed bag, but I think in one month or a bit more there will be a return to the dismal numbers of last summer. That brings me no joy. I wish Bungie would get it together.

Big public areas and no public interaction sucks. Even though I do most stuff solo, this is just boring, when you don't meet anyone in the new areas.

Boring! Patrol areas need Guardians patrolling. It is pretty lackluster patrolling alone

I honestly thought it is/was a matchmaking problem and they would fix it soon. But being alone in a patrol zone feels weird. Sure overthrow is soloable, but still. It is.. pale. (Sorry, not sorry)

I hate it that there are no other guardians there. It was nice when other people joined in on public events. Random people helping me find collectibles. I have even met people and gamed with them from doing patrols. Bad choice in my options. Hope they change it in the near future.

The whole game feels empty boring, but than that's the end of the 10-year cycle, so it makes sense to kill it off some way
