This raid is way way to annoying…
Plus its even worse due to -5 stuff
Yes surges help but jeez theres way to much mechanics with too many adds spamming stasis.
Idk why people saying its “the best” its way too overcooked…
@Destiny2Team please revert the changes. The majority wants this . LISTEN TO US PLEASE. We can keep the surges, but let us OVERLEVEL and do more damage in Normal raids.
I love this game but theres times where too much is TOO MUCH…. A normal raid should be taidable for Everyone…

Haven't finished it yet but I am enjoying it so far. Not the biggest fan of a 3rd Pyramid architecture Raid but it is what it is. This being the final Raid of the Light/Dark saga it should honestly be the toughest of the past few years that you would need to train up to beat. However it would be great to have a story mode version as well as reduced rewards for players that don't raid for the experience. If I were to change anything so far, I would remove the delay in depositing motes so that players could dunk at the same time as that is a bit more annoying than necessary.

I respectfully disagree. Its a tough (but fitting) end of a 10 year story. It shouldnt be a cakewalk raid like RoN

6 RepliesEdited by Kurupt: 6/12/2024 5:10:57 PMJust can’t get into raiding anymore. They are just not fun. Stopped caring after memorizing symbols was a thing…

In D1 I raided all the time, all the raids and LOVED it! I'd run each char, each raid with my pre-clan clan and then on weekends would help others. I ran and even enjoyed Lev in D2 but then a mega, long project started and I was out for a while. By then my old friends were long gone, and the clan I joined and ran Lev with also vanished and I joined a toxic clan (not knowing!) and helped certain phases in Scourge but I did mention toxic right? There was a reason I jumped in to help, others would quit mid-phase and never be seen again. I too quit after a few and left. Now, while I have desired to raid I just refuse because, community self-entitlement attitudes and sorry the raids just don;t look fun like the D1 raids were!

Like Nightfalls, Raids should just have tiers of difficulty, with rewards to tailored to both.

Brace yourselves. Here comes the skill-issue troops to the rescue.

5 RepliesYeah, objectively this is the worst raid for replayability. I guess this is what happens when bungie listens to the 0.1%
-
It’s the only raid that I straight up refuse to touch once I get the exotic

Edited by Coneflake0: 6/11/2024 12:04:12 PMPersonally I despise anything Pyramid/witness based and see it as retconning the Hive. The whole aesthetic is boring and dull. The lore was incredibly rich at Taken King and continued through to Forsaken. But took a nose dive when the pyramids showed up. But then quite possibly the most ridiculous raid boss in Rhulk shows up and I dipped. Nezerac too was awful. And now we’ve got the Witness who quite probably has to be the worst looking big bad of all time. And for damage we are basically repeating the Atheon mechanic. I can’t see myself hanging tough in LFG groups for this. Nah.

I haven’t attempted it but I watched friends attempting day 1. They spent about 40 hours, including 5hrs at the final boss, and sadly didn’t finish it. My impression is the mechanics are very complex, plus the time pressure, leaving basically no margin for error. And then reality is, for casual gamers, this whole raid will take a long time, say 4-6 hours? That’s quite some time for anyone that has a real life and job I would say. For me, a 2-3 hr gaming session would be nice. I can understand this is supposed to be the hardest because this is the final boss. But if the content is too hard for many of the gamers who then do not want to play, what’s the point the content.

The fourth encounter man. Games are meant to be fun. This -blam!- is NOT fun. Who came up with this -blam!-. I can deal with the rest..but wtf is this 4th encounter nonsense.

1 ReplyI bet they are confused on why only 1% of the community does raids. I used to raid every week in D1. D2, I could care less about the raids.

3 RepliesEdited by Murphy: 6/11/2024 12:08:43 AMThe people saying its the best are the Bungie propaganda department, aka Streamers. Go figure these kids watch these leeches play a video game they could simply go play and all of them are in an echo chamber. No free thought or free will anymore....just more of the repeated selling point. Like current state of news in the US....all an echo chamber THis raid was made specifically for streamers. Now they can peddle their "sub for a chance to get a carry" or the boosting services to charge 100's to run in the same teams.......

3 RepliesThis raid was designed for the streamers and professional gamer masochists out there, not for the everyday person who plays video games for fun.

7 RepliesI think players have lost what Raids were meant and supposed to be. While yes they are supposed to be end game content and present a challenge, they were never meant to be so difficult and tedious as to be exclusionary. They were to be a challenging activity for clan members or a 6 man team outsode of the normal 3 man fireteam to enjoy on a friday or saturday night to play, talk, figure out uncommon game mechanics while having a good time. I dont know when or where this perception got changed to "its a RAID its supposed to be the absolute hardest content for top % of players" and bungie started to cater to this perception. Its absolutely a ridiculous notion and perception and is used only for "elitists" who feel the need to impress anyone with their "git gud" skills and feed their self indulgent egos. It needs to die.

3 RepliesI’m failing to understand what is so difficult about this raid (outside of the mechanics) which imo are also extremely easy once you understand them. -5 LL is almost unnoticeable, use supers for yellow bars, utilise your stuns and GL/rockets for unstops. Hardest part is having synergy with your LFG. As far as DPS goes, bungie have literally handed you weapons within quest lines to unlock the raid itself and also have farmable content for a sword which is great for the 2nd encounter - use them… I would also like to add that you have 3 phases to down the witness, you don’t need to be dropping 6m damage per player to get the clear. Nobody wants to play watered down content mate.

12 RepliesDude can’t match shapes and got upset that his botwalking playstyle gets caught in stasis. Wild Raid is amazing you just are below average
-
Think people would have it a little easier if the surge/-5 was gone. Surge just brings your output back to base. Mechanics aren’t too crazy imo (sure they’re unforgiving). Just not a fan of the other portion in normal raids. Trying to have fun with my friends, save “sweating” for master. At this rate I probably won’t play it much, or the push to move on seeing as it’s the end anyway. Cheers

13 RepliesEdited by God Eater: 6/11/2024 11:29:06 AMNo. If you can't meet a damage check with minus 5 but with surges to 1or 2 phase then that is a skill issue. Thank God Bungie doesn't listen to the super casuals on ENDGAME CONTENT. EDIT: The replies to this alone tells me this community has no idea how powerful we are as guardians. I'm literally Thunderclapping everything out of existence like it's a heavy weapon.

9 RepliesMy raid team and I have completed all day 1 raid contest modes since VoG, excluding KF, (damn you Warpriest challenge mode). This time, we only barely beat the second encounter. We then beat the 3rd and 4th encounters once contest mode ended, but didn't get a chance to sit down and really figure out the Witness encounter. Under normal circumstances, I would be in full agreement that this raid is WAY overbaked and the encounters are entirely too demanding, with no real room for error (basically a single death is a wipe in a lot of circumstances). That said, I basically give Bungie a pass for this specific raid since I take it to be lore accurate. This is, after all, the big bad. The witness themselves. I feel like anything less than the absolute most demanding raid would be a let down after 10 years of only fighting his subordinates... Subordinates that were only empowered by the witness themselves as mere puppets.
-
Just tone back the stasis enemies and untie the damage you receive from the frame rate (Yes, this is STILL an issue). Otherwise, the raid is actually fun, you can't just loligag about anymore while someone is doing a mechanic, EVERYONE has to do something, and that prevents someone saying "I want to be ad clear".

Edited by nonchalantone: 6/11/2024 1:45:07 AMWoah-HO-HO-HO Nellie!! Get ready to get laughed at, persecuted, and hammered for your "opinion" on this! They're about to eat you alive! (Sorry OP).

Feels like a patrol compared to contest, it's good how it is

6 RepliesRevert what? They haven't buffed anything in it, there's nothing TO revert.
-
8 RepliesAbout time we got a hard raid.

4 Repliespeople like you need to learn how to come to terms with the fact that not all activities in the game are meant for everyone. there needs to be harder stuff for people that like the challenge. not everyone is a trash can.
