Kinetic weapons are arguably much worse than elemental weapons.
1. They can’t synergise with any subclass (except transcendence, from a paid subclass)
2. They can’t break elemental shields
3. Can’t have anything like scorch, unravel, volatile, or any subclass weapon buffs
In today’s sandbox, Kinetic weapons need a boost. They need something that makes them more desirable to use over elemental weapons like sunshot or graviton. The extra damage was great for this. Now it’s gone.
Seeing as you hate players having extra damage where it matters, I’ve proposed a new solution: shield shredding. Allow kinetic weapons to rapidly break shields of any element, OR give us new fragments and exotic armour that synchronises with Kinetic easily.

21 Replies1. They can synergize with any subclass. Some fragments reward you for damage dealt, regardless of element, and some aspects impact ALL weapons, including kinetics. 2. They can break shields, it just takes a little bit longer, and it should, because that's the point of a SHIELD. It'd be stupid if the basic bullet could easily punch through a SHIELD. That would make it a pretty pointless shield. 3. This is just downright wrong. Radiant is a subclass weapon buff that impacts all weapons, including kinetic, and strand has a fragment that allows ALL weapons to cause Unravel through precision hits. Like, I'm sorry that you have no game sense, but basically EVERYTHING you've said here is flat-out wrong. As for your "shield shredding" idea, why would ANY damage type other than the exact match do significant damage to a shield? The point of a shield is to TANK DAMAGE for the user. I'm all for making the game accessible (easy for casuals, hard for sweats, super hard for pro sweats) but it still needs to make sense, and for the basic, bland, "normal" gun to be able to do ANYTHING significant to the highly advanced force field is ridiculous.
