Worlds first race has broken down into childish tactics.

It’s honestly pathetic and should not be endorsed by bungie in any way, hiding your screen or buffs or audio should be grounds for disqualification. It’s scummy and disgusting. Edit: so happy that the people doing this didn’t get worlds first. Congrats Tyraxe and team

  • Terrible take. You aren’t owed anything. These are random people doing whatever they can to win a contest. You want entertainment and a guide to follow, this isn’t that. Sad, disgusting take.

    • Who tf cares about some random guy that plays the same game as you ??? The streamer does not know you , he is not your friend . Yet people act like they are their idols or something ... They are just random people that play destiny 2 just like you . So why would anyone give them money ??? I never sub to anyone because it costs money , i just watch the video or stream here and there . The streamer is not gonna get a penny from me cause they have enough money already but why would you sub to anyone for couple months that you have to pay for if you can just watch their content for free like i am doing for the past 10 years ??? Help me understand ... ??

      • The team that won were small speedrun streamers who did a private stream. Youre complaints are valid for them too.

        • Streaming wasn't required for the winners of world's first. Let their followers/subscribers decide what will happen to the people they watch.

Yeah if you feel the need to blackout your screen for a raid race, don’t bother streaming. Not like it’s a requirement to stream in the first place.

Them blurring the buffs and muting their voices are fine with me. But not showing the screen of gameplay was messed up to the all their followers that pay. They should dispute their donations to their credit card companies that they didn’t get the product they paid for 😂

          • As streaming is not a requirement for World’s First (and trust me you don’t want this to be a requirement), disqualification for streaming a black screen doesn’t make sense. I agree that it is a bit scummy, not in the race aspect (doing anything allowed to win seems fine to me and the secrecy component is a benefit inherently given to those who aren’t streaming their runs), but as a provider of entertainment, getting all the views and money from streaming while not providing anything to your viewers who were expecting to see the raid is scummy. Really though, I’m surprised anyone put up with it and watched their black screen slop anyways.

              Guardian, Archon Of Light

Archon Priest Of House Light - old

I left the streams that muted or blacked out Cross and Salt were blacking out and muting even after the race was over If there bots(like that are trashing your post here) didn't support them anyway, muting and blacking out would hurt there views and ad revenue

            • It's just down right disrespect to those who have followed these streamers. Datto and salt both black screen and muted. What are 65k people doing just watching dattos face. At least sweatcicle (I guess because they are quite behind) is actually showing content. Pretty pathetic over a computer game. They win nothing of any value. Some kind of elitism in a game that means nothing to 99.99999999999% of the world.

              • Was watching sweat and he was calling the streamers who did that childish and that they needed to grow up, which i agree, not very interesting watching a silent stream that has half the screen blurred

Understandable why teams did this I guess. However, low-key predatory with these people who black screened being happy to enjoy ad revenue and subscribers. Many of the viewers grinded with you for a dozen hours (especially the Guardian museum encounter) only for you to black screen the finale - literally gaslighting their own fanbase. Very happy it went to a team that didn't do this. Also am enjoying the salt of other teams complaining the winning team used 5 hunters and a warlock to clear. These sooks are now copying the strategy.

              • Do you mean as disgusting as this developer rigging "Guardian Games" every year that replaced the Factions they removed because they couldn't make a profit off them?

                • So not streaming it is an automatic disqualification? What is this take? It is a race, why should you be obligated to help your opponents? If you cant piece it together yourself with your own gameplay and all the information you can gather from other sources, you should not get the clear.

                • Screens are turned off so you can’t see Bungie telling them how to complete the encounters 😂 Would’t want zero day 1 completions, that would be embarrassing😂

                  • This is such a bad take, it hurt my common sense to read it. It’s a race..the idea being to complete it first…not hand other teams the mechanics sheet. They stream so we can watch them play. In worlds first, it’s not their job to teach you or anyone else the mechanics. They’re in it to win it. 100% disagree with your criticism which, imo, is little more than you throwing a tantrum because you couldn’t copy them day 1.

                    • Errr… mate… look at any competitive sport in the world. You do not see people from rival teams present and involved during coaching and/or strategy sessions. These steamers want to provide entertainment and showcase their runs but they don’t want to hand over their playbook to their rivals. It makes perfect sense and, honestly, it’s not childish to cover screens and mute comms, it’s smart. The one child I see is you my friend.

This isn't a new strategy a few world first races had viewers that were watching streams to see others strategies to tell their team how to do the encounters. It would suck if you were playing any sport and someone from the stands got to see the play book or listening on the radios and telling the other team their plans. If more people had integrity and tried to figure it out on their own for the worlds first race this wouldn't have become a strategy I am not saying the group that won did this but it has been an issue before. Lastly they do this as a job and want to win because it shows how well they worked as a team to hit this milestone. If you don't agree with it that's fine but if people are using other's streams to get an advantage what would you do to stop it?

                        • It’s hilarious for them to all turn off their sounds and block certain parts of their screen so their tactics won’t get leaked. Only for some people not streaming to get the worlds firsts 💀
