Prismatic Unlock Soft-Lock
It is possible to soft-lock yourself out of the Prismatic subclass within the old tower prismatic conflux.
If youve already unlocked it for a class, delete said class & try to unlock prismatic again you will not be able to as the prompt to interact with the conflux will be missing.
Buying the campaign skip will not fix this issue. Resetting the mission will not fix the issue. Pressing your binded transcend button will not fix the issue. Resetting the game will not fix the issue. Verifying the integrity of game files will not fix the issue.
[u]THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE CURRENTLY[/u]
You will be completely soft-locked out of unlocking prismatic for that character & in turn be unable to progress the campaign.
This bug is repeatable and unfortunately easy to execute unknowingly.
Bungie is currently ‘investigating’ this issue, however I doubt we’ll see a fix within this Tuesdays patch notes.
Bungie Help - After the raid completion/contest this should be one, if not, the biggest concern you have for the Final Shape DLC. Currently there is hundreds of players currently who cannot progress the campaign & are starting to refund their expansion due to this bug.

So I just loaded up and I cant get through the first Prismatic mission. Why cant I finish it? It locks me out of the mission. Is this because I dont have the DLC?

The same thing has happened to me, Once I completed the campaign on one character and unlocked the Destination Armor sets I wanted to create new characters to go through the campaign in style, come to find that I can't interact with the Prismatic well and cannot progress the first mission or acquire the subclass for my Titan and Warlock. I want to try my Hunter but I'm already getting a slew of 'flashing notification' glitches since TFS launch and am afraid I'll break other stuff. At this point I'll have to wait for a patch and sit in regret that I deleted characters not knowing that that would inadvertently soft-lock prismatic from my account.

I just managed to brute force it by having someone who already has prismatic run me through the mission top to bottom as the host. not sure what part of that equation made it work, but it unlocked prismatic at the end of the mission.

I'm assuming the fix applies/gives Prismatic outright for characters that pass the 1st mission or at least finishes the starting seasonal quest mission. Though it still seems like the soft lock/prompt still doesn't show for others. I'll try to do some tests later to see what specific things that need to be done to gain Prismatic by resetting a character.

My hunter (which I spent 2000 silver on) is fixed with prismatic unlocked) my titan that is manually doing the campaign still cannot unlock prismatic

5 RepliesTHERE IS A FIX!. The dual Destiny Quest forced me into prismatic and unlocked the UI for it on my Hunter that i had deleted!!!

My 50 year old father was really looking forward to this expansion. He really enjoys playing hunter, so I have to hunters on my account, his being the second. He currently cannot progress and is very sad about this as he was really looking forward to it. Huge blunder bungie, fix this and stop ignoring it. I understand it's a smaller minority issue but it's preventing people from playing tfs entirely.

Same problem here decided to delete my titan and start fresh, I had done the first mission already so when I went and did it again on my fresh titan I ran into this problem! Bungie moved a lot of completed this content flags to be account wide which is why I guess this has happened. -

From what I've seen, the game will try and point you immediately to the final encounter of that mission if the Prismatic unlock object isn't present. It didn't show up for my friends when I went back to play the campaign with them, but we were able to proceed anyways and when we completed the mission, Prismatic was immediately unlocked for them after the mission was finished. But it also doesn't surprise me if such an issue becomes a big problem if you've deleted a character of that class before. Some information for specific classes will still persist, even after removing all characters of that specific class and some things could still be left incorrectly flagged if it wasn't coded well. The game probably thinks you still have Prismatic unlocked.

Just replying to this thread here as I have now encountered this issue on my 2nd character (warlock) Seems to occur after you have one character completed with prismatic. For me I have 2 accounts and on both accounts I was able to complete successfully get the subclass on my first character. However once trying to do the story and grab the prismatic subclass on my second character, this is where I have encountered the soft lock issue. Just wanted to point this out for more awareness. I then also tested the deletion of class and 20 dollar skip option as well and it didn’t work either. So sorry to hear that others paid $20 as well and had no luck :/

1 ReplyThis post is to serve more as a warning. I often delete characters and create new ones; if you do the same consider waiting till after there is a patch for this bug. If you’ve already soft locked yourself then unfortunately you’re hopeless till Bungie releases a patch.

1 ReplySo i have this issue as well and this is what i have tried so far: 1. Reset again and run it again. No change still cant interact. 2. pay boost, This will put you past the fist mission where we are stuck but DOSE NOT give you the sub class. 3. run it with a friend on a fresh account. once you get the to sub class part of the mission he can interreact i can not and still cant get though the mission. Help this saves others some time

I am so pissed off about this right now. I was enjoying using Prismatic and I completed the campaign but now I have absolutely no motivation to play until this is fixed. I can't help but wonder how they let an error of this magnitude slip through into the game. Do they not have play testers? Please fix this immediately Bungo.

I deleted my hunter and warlock just to have a fresh start feel, now I can't even experience how prismatic works on both classes. As each moment passes, I only feel surmounting frustration; this is the first time that I have been contemplating of refunding a game ever.

I paid for the character boost to get past the mission but you still don't have the new sub class.
