bungie please bring back the old shader icons, ı cant resist them so ugly

4 RepliesAt the very least, make a toggle option. I used to have the shaders mostly memorized just by how there icon looked. I was able to jump to the page it was on and find it real fast just by how it looked. Now, I have to scroll through and read all the names. What it is good for though is trying to find a matching color.

At first I was meh but I like the new design now. It looks updated.
-
Stop complaining I like them the old shader icons were old and in need of change end of.
-
I feel like instead of the 4 grid it was,it should be a 5 grid. Or even, keep the 4 grid, and make the 5th color the border.
-
If they wanted to show trim they should have just not done the center piece and added an outer border to the shader. This new system is cluttered

3 RepliesEdited by Obscure Meme: 6/8/2024 5:51:21 PMThe problem is no matter how they really display them, they cannot accurately depict their contents in that small of an icon. Shaders are effectively just retextures of existing assets, and as a result the material properties and pathing is really hard to display without a raw list of the different changes.

Yea honestly i can’t even tell what shader is what anymore. That center piece is very overtaking.
-
I honestly can't even tell what they are anymore.
-
Not a chance. The person who worked on it put on twitter it took them 6 months just doing this, so they'll never revert. 110k a week for 6 months, cost a 1/3 million dollars lolol

We talking d1? That icon was dope.
-
I can’t agree or disagree but the old system looked better

Edited by jmigserra: 6/8/2024 7:38:19 PMI remember when Bungie changed the old shaders to the ones that were now replaced, it was a pain to adjust. Now it will also take some time. But even being innacurate they show 6 colors/patterns, being a little more accurate than the ones they replace
-
2 RepliesI mean either way they are very inaccurate
