Prismatic menu causing GPU to max out

The prismatic menu seems to causes gpu usage to max out, never heard my fans speed up like this. Tried to cap framerate and that didn't help.

  • Same here with ROG STRIX RTX 4070 TI OC. With old subclasses I stay at 60-62 c° but when I go to the prismatic subclass it ramps up at 70° within a few seconds.

  • I too want to bump this. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x RAM: ‎CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 32GB 3200mhz Motherboard: B550-A PRO (MS-7C56) (AM4) Graphics card: RTX 2070 (537.58) Monitored this with HW monitor. when i touch any menu that has prismatic, my GPU will go from roughly 67-70c >>> 100c in about 20 seconds after maxing out the GPU.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out! We'll pass this along to developers for further investigation. In the meantime, we recommend double-checking that your video card drivers are up to date.

I'm having the same problem. The GPU goes hard enough to crash my computer completely after the fans are running full tilt for a bit. If I mess around changing prismatic fragments or aspects for more than 10-15 seconds, I'm cooked. RTX2070. Latest drivers. Framerate capped. I'm in the Hunter Prismatic class screen to be specific. I haven't tried to recreate it on Warlock or Titan.

    • Don’t think capping the frame rate will help because Bungie’s frame rate code seems to override it. I have the same issue on my PS4 and it’s supposed to cap at 60 but it tries to run the screen at nearly 200

    • I’m on Xbox one x and kinda having the same problem. As soon as I open the prismatic menu within 10-15 sec my fan is firing up. As soon as I back out of it the fan turns off

    • My 3070 is having the same issue. I want to get a refund, but it's already past the deadline.

    • Heard someone say it’s because Bungie didn’t cap the frame rate for this screen so it’s their fault.

    • Same here. I even tried to undervolt my GPU but still hitting max power consumption and temperatures around 87-89°C while changing my Prismatic fragments. Which GPU do you have? I have a RX 580 8GB. Hope a little optimization might be launch for the next patch.
