Casual player deeply regretting prepurchasing The Final Shape
As a casual player, I'm not up to date on developer notes. Having come back to find a full on nerf of my preferred build, one I've slowly built up over time, is discouraging. Not only is my preferred super, Well of Radiance, getting a severe nerf, but the Sunbracer exotic as well.
I thought this was the finale and we are going all out to defeat The Witness, yet you nerf my character into the ground. The fun police are on patrol. I'm truly kicking myself for preording this without reading the developer notes. Of course, they wouldn't advertise that they were specifically targeting your playstyle and build, but I can't help but feel completely screwed over.

Well has been overpowered and a crutch since 2018. Bungie builds the game for casuals in mind. Cant have anything too difficult because casuals will complain that they cant beat said content. Its a nerf, not the end of the world. You'll still be able to use sun bracers and well. They're just not quite as strong. Welcome to the world of live service games where balance changes are constantly being made.

1 ReplyGlad you were able to get it refunded, but DONT PREORDER GAMES ! It's a big part of why the industry is trash compared to what it was years ago. Companies like ea releasing unfinished games with -blam!- tons of bugs.

The sunbracer nerf makes me sad too I think it’s being done solely because sunbracers is better than that awful “new” pre gutted warlock super. What I wish we had as floaty mains is a precision burst dps super. We were running pantheon I wasn’t allowed to run well because that lowers the dps of golden gun I couldn’t run stasis, strand, or arc souls in a lot of encounters because of the encounter mechanics any stray damage could wipe. Even running void bothered some because the blob is to inaccurate, and the vortex is to large, lingers to long, and could damage the wrong spot. Which is valid, it’s just annoying af because what are you supposed to run…. I’m tired of feeling like I’m throwing because I want to main a warlock. Hunters are leaning more and more into the agile assassin Titans are leaning more and more into the front line tank and now more than ever have access to a lot of team healing options Warlocks were supposed to be support and healing but that identity has been stripped away completly without offering a solid alternative It’s a fundamental issue with warlocks that’s been around since solar 3.0

I know how you feel, if you dont have 5-6hrs you arent getting any good loot just ok stuff. Once this game dies more competition will pop up i hope. Gaming kinda sucks at the moment if you play solo or with a biddy every once in a while.

Can tell you're still not up to date on developer notes, because they didn't nerf your character into the ground, and it's going to be just fine in any content a casual player is going to be frequenting. Lay off the youtube videos and read the patch notes for once.

6 RepliesNeither are getting nerfed into the ground and the build will be fine. You lose a single grenade and some health regen but gain the ability to take a damage buff outside the well. The build is going to be the exact same, half the time i dont even use all 5 grenades and only use 3 or 4 so the nerf means nothing.

1 ReplyWell is still going to be good, it’s just different. Sunbracers are still going to be strong, you just toss 4 grenades now instead of 5 which is fine since we can just reproc the perk anyway. This is a perfect opportunity for you to try other builds instead of only crutching in the meta. This is why I have always stayed away from the meta in the first place, it’s bound to get nerfed. You cant really act all surprised when well had been a go to for any pve content since it released.

Otherwise, it is a totally different game on how you learned to play for 9 years. Dumb Dumb Dumb decisions. Ignore all the sweat-ards that want to say use something different. Figure out what aspects and mods make you broken. You know what, that has ruined the game for normal players. We just want to shoot and kill. Not ability spam. Also, if you think something is broken. Challenge yourself, do not use it. Leave the rest of us alone. Well makes it too easy for you. Do rift only. Div makes it too easy. Do not use it. Let the normal people who cannot pinpoint aim use it.

What evidence would you have that any build is safe from ROTATION OF META. What a plonker.

Change won’t impact casual play.

Maybe you should learn Voidlock or just expand your play style. Solar has been fairly weak for a while. The seasonal artifact just made it good for the past six months.

Welcome to Destiny! "Casuals" shouldn't pre order. I've a version of this post every year, and at balancing patch times. But, on another note, SOOOO many more locke builds to play as it is. Expand yoyr horizons!

Well will likely still be meta, just in combination with a banner shield or sth, sunbracers will still be top tier add clear, just not a guarantee for them to be active 24/7.

your build is getting nerfed because is pretty broken that's why , and let's be real the sunbracer nerf will basically do nothing , and since you are a casual i guess you don't play master content = your well will still be super strong

I can see how this would be a shock to you since you used one of the few things that has almost never been nerfed like everything else in the game has multiple times. Then buffed then nerfed again like basically everything else.

7 RepliesYou fail to realize they do stuff like this because more busted abilities/gear is coming. We don't know all the interactions yet with prismatic. Could have some broken ones. Trust me bro, you'll find something else to use. The new warlock chest piece will have an insane amount of ad clear. Also, give red death a shot. It will literally be a roaming well of radiance with the catalyst.
