i hate chasing weapons. i'm not lucky enough to get the roll that i want, that's the long and short of it. over the course of onslaught i never attuned to forebearance (crafted one is better + seizures anyway) and i got at least three of them shiny. i never saw a single shiny of a roll i actually wanted, and only saw rolls i liked being gotten by other people. let it be known, i am unlucky.
i don't hate that you're making adept trials weapons and gm weapons and suchlike enhanceable, or so i hear you're going to do, but introducing chase weapons and revoking them after two months is downright cruel if you're playing on folks' FOMO.
i have put in just about 6k hours in the course of 2 1/2 years, and my luck has been consistently bad. it's just how my luck be. if you start pushing chase weapons over craftables, i'm going to stop playing. i want to be extra clear on this, it isn't out of a sense of entitlement, it's the fact that chasing weapons i want and cannot craft absolutely destroys my mental and physical capacity. the frustration and consistent disappointment suck to such a degree that i am more burned out than i have ever been despite my hours played these past six months having steeply dropped off.
i'm not even excited about the launch of final shape, because it means that activities i really liked and guns i didn't get are going away on top of the emotional numbness that comes with your bog-standard extreme burnout. just thinking about how burned out i am makes me want to cry, and i can't even begin to understand what that's all about, let alone process it and figure my -blam!- out to get over it.
please for the love of god, don't bring back chase weapons

2 RepliesAre you aware that Onslaught and the BRAVE weapons will still be available after Final Shape drops? Not the "shiny" variants but the normal versions will be.

You haven’t even clocked 3K hours let alone 6K. 2. If you don’t like “chase weapons” then you shouldn’t be playing a looter shooter. Games like Destiny are built around said chase so if farming/grinding isn’t something that you enjoy then you might want to move on. 3. Considering some of the phrases you wrote such as “emotional numbness” and “destroying my mental and physical capacity” you might want to seek some real life help because that isn’t normal. If you “feel like crying” because of burn out then just step away from the game.

Crafting has killed the game worse so than Chase/RNG loot. With RNG loot, there is always a reason to go back to a raid, dungeon, strike, crucible, or any other number of activities. Crafting could have enhanced this RNG system, by giving a form of Badluck protection, but Bungie being Bungie, decided that Crafted Weapons would be the best option with Enhanced Perks. Suddenly, there is no reason to go back to an activity. There is no form of “better loot” and you are left only looking to grind for the Red Boarders instead of the weapon itself.

Chase weapons are good for the game because it gives a goal outside if complete the activity, it's nice to get a shiny roll even though it might not be the roll that you want
