Arc as a whole discussion

The ideology of arc being a subclass the gives a high risk high reward play style in damage output has significantly diminished after the introduction of strand and some solar upgrades not only can strand put out more damage than the “damage” subclass but it can also do it with healing from banner of war, arc right now really needs a new damage verb or a new buff verb that’s gives sustainable healing or a large increase to jolt damage from abilities because as of right now arc has no reason to be played when in comparison to the other subclasses in PvE when it comes to damage for single targets and ad clear, just think about it this is a class that has ionic traces that literally feed your abilities energy and it’s still not enough to out do strand or solar in performance

  • I think of solar as the damage class because of scorch and ignitions, not really Arc. Arc has always been the ad clear, ability spam subclass to me. Also good CC with blind.

I've been running Getaway Artist (sometimes with a demo/wellspring forebearance) and high stat recov/resil/discipline and enjoying it at least in Onslaught and seasonal activities. Arc soul up all the time, spreading arc soul and healing to allies... amplified all the time. I don't do end-game PVE and I really just tried it out to see if it even stood a chance.. and it was so powerful in these activities I stuck with it for PVE this past month.

  • Arc warlock needs some help, but arc hunter is probably the most broken solo build. Arc titan is relatively balanced, heart of inmost nerf hurt, but insurmountable skullfront is on par with assassins cowl and let's you melee almost indefinitely.

  • Arc has a fast recharge especially on Ionic Trace builds, which means lots of orb generation overall and from that the survivability increases much more than it had previously. There is of course the increased damage resistance while sprinting from the Fragment and Bungie announced yesterday that Electric Armor is making a return in the Artifact perk pool, which I am keeping on for the entirety of the new Episode. Arc is certainly powerful if you lean into certain playstyles, the Blind verb being especially powerful in end game activities. Its my favorite subclass and while it could be stronger it absolutely is viable.
