With the introduction of Pantheon and, arguably, one of the coolest titles, I feel like there's become a negative aura surrounding the title Godslayer.
Of course, this is all anecdotal heresay, so please don't take this post as anything factual, but I feel like in exchange of the all-to-common "I'm a D1 alpha/beta vet" introduction, it's been evolved into "I'm a Godslayer". Coupled with the accusations that players are purchasing the title and the title being on path to become the second most common raid title (behind Descendant) in the two weeks it's been available, I hear more people react negatively to the title versus celebrating it. (Title ownership percentage is from warmind.io).
I'd like to know how others feel about it. Is Godslayer that awesome title that should strike awe in new players in the Tower/Cosmodrome, or is Godslayer becoming more of a meme?

I didn’t bother getting the seal but I do have quite a few raid ones, did you just have to beat each encounter or did you need the platinum score too? Cause if you just had to beat all the encounters each week then yeah that’s pretty easy to do an a regular raid title is much harder to do with the challenges on master etc

After 6 days of being stuck on nezerac I finally found a decent a team to do it with

20 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 6/1/2024 12:36:09 PMWait, it's now a common title? Thats surprising, I like the fact that it's a limited time Title though but it being not so rare is pretty surprising to me, ill have to take a look BRB. Edit: Wtf, my Wrathbearer title is apparently rarer (0.068% Global, 1.6% Adjusted) than Godslayer? (0.213% Global, 5.0% Adjusted).

just about every time i go to the moon eris calls me god slayer ,im already recognized i dont need the title

I think the title and emblems, the rewards, and everything that came with it are great actually. I also see it from 2 perspectives. 1) either people got carried or somehow cheesed it... 2) people truly spent time and efforts grinding it out. From what I've seen in my Clan, (at least from the more active members) it's more #2. Some people even helped Clanmates make it through at least the first 2 weeks, if not farther. I never stepped foot in the activity, not because of skill but because time restraints. On that, I feel most anyone, given the time and dedication, could have succeeded. Personally I work 6 days a week and am a single parent, I couldn't justify the commitment to even trying. I believe my Clan could have helped me get through it but it wasn't for me. I think the amount of time that I've heard people spending on the activity is kinda crazy. I know of at least one person who spent more time running it then they did with their kid in the past. That is on them, but for me it wasn't worth it. If you have the title, and got it legit, congrats. Wear it with pride. If you got it and cheese it.....congrats (I guess), wear it with pride.

8 RepliesI think every single title has loop holes and cheese but the prestige is in the beholder, not the people looking at it. It represents some sort of journey the player has been through. I don’t necessarily believe titles dictate skill but if someone wants their guardian to where a specific title, if they’re proud of it then I say go for it. It’s the same as guardian ranks really.

They mean nothing its a game hahahahahaha everyone in my clan has it must not be that rare now at all. Alot of cheese was used hahahaha

8 RepliesThere are definitely a lot of Godslayers who are actually just Addslayers.
-
I think the public perception has definitely put a damper on it. However I did it exclusively through LFG and it was definitely a challenge. I’m a decent raider but not the best of all time so for me the title is awesome. I felt super accomplished when I got it and I plan on continuing to wear it be proud of it

2 RepliesI've seen so many "God Slayers" running around it makes me wonder where all these gods are coming from and why the hell not one of them answered my prayers 🤔

Edited by AppleSoda: 6/2/2024 3:44:25 PMIt’s common because of two reasons 1) it is genuinely a cool title and there is perceived prestige behind it. 2) There are no tedious, otherwise pointless, triumphs. Unlike other raid and dungeon titles there’s no “complete it with only clan members,” “complete with all arc,” “complete encounter in a goofy different way” etc. While some of these do add a little bit of challenge, for the most part they are just tedious and aren’t really worth your time unless you want the title. Every single triumph in Godslayer is worth doing and does not require you to jump through (mostly) pointless hoops. Not to say those triumphs add zero challenge to the other raid titles (Featherlight, if I’m recalling the right triumph, is arguably the hardest part of the Crota’s End title, for example) but they don’t add much incentive to do them besides getting the title.

Meh I don’t care what other people do regardless especially in a game. They like their title, awesome good on them. They did the work to get it. But when they announce themselves by their title I find it absolutely hilarious. 🤣
-
1 ReplyYeah , no-one is doing the actual raids anymore because of pantheon . There are seals about those actual raids , you know ... People that did not complete any of those raid seals but do have godslayer title simply cannot complete an actual raid seal so they choose to do the easy method . What is next ? You get grandmaster nightfall loot in gambit ??? Bungi needs to get a grip ..
-
Definitely was difficult for me to get I got it Thursday this week. Probably the only title I will wear for a good while.
-
2 RepliesNo? For myself I use titles that mean something to me. For instance Flawless: I did the Confidence requirement solo and that was another level hard. Or any raid title, as those have memories with my clan mates. Godslayer is a cool sounding title and whoever got it legit can be proud of it I think.
-
Meh, honestly I don’t care, raiding is awesome and not enough people do it, the changes they made to the encounters are awesome, the cheesing is cringe but I’m glad it’s been such a success. As far as regular raid seals I disagree strongly with removing the requirement for a flawless raid from the seal, too many people whined and complained so that’s been gone for ages now which cheapens the seals considerably. The flawless shaders aren’t even that great for most of them 😩

1 ReplyTitles and guardian ranks are all worthless and a stupid way of evaluating how good a player is. Anyone flexing any of these is an idiot and probably compensating. Some titles can be cool person goals but mean nothing in a group setting. Guardian ranks are just worthless

3 RepliesEdited by ㅤ Avvor: 5/31/2024 1:32:27 AMAnyone who uses Godslayer as a determining factor in how good they are or someone else is Is trash at the game

1 ReplyEdited by Obi-Juan: 6/1/2024 1:38:36 PMOne of the most overrated seals in a minute. The amount of people I come across in LFG with the title who were clearly either carried in Pantheon or paid for someone to do it for this is absurd. I thought it was gonna be a nice way to get competent players for some onslaught farming but it couldn't be worse for that. I've had more luck using guardian rank 11s than I have using godslayers. So many godslayers who seem to think running through the tunnel in onslaught and dying is a smart decision when there's a clear invis hunter who can 1000% guarantee its delivery in safety everytime. So many godslayers who think strand titan is good for onslaught where there are countless exploding enemies that are gonna shutdown the close quarters playstyle. Definitely an overrated seal. I'll have a lot more respect for people who have stuff like Rivensbane.
-
It's the hardest raid seal to obtain in terms of difficulty. It's less tedious than the rest of the raid seals. Once you get to nezarec sublime you have to have your T's crossed and your i's dotted. When I mean tedious take a look at the garden of salvation challenges. Prime example. Ultimately I think nezzy sublime was preparing players for what we might encounter in the final shape raid.
-
You can’t really compare it to other raid titles, other raid titles make you do a bunch of things that no one wants to do. The only people who go for them are people who like the title or want people to know they like the raid. Pantheon was just fighting bosses.
-
6 RepliesMost titles are memes. I would like the option to hide titles and guardian ranks from UI. Useless clutter.
-
Fomo titles are the coolyest 🤤

To those that judge people and/or players by their outward appearance it will matter more than anything. To those who don’t it won’t mean a thing.
