Bungie..
its coming to light that several prominent streamers were allowed access to the final shape prior to launch. These players get a significant advantage in playing the game as they had access to it all. They can work towards creating day one and raid day builds. Understand the movement of new enemies and mechanics before the rest of us.
As usual.. you didn't tell us the truth. Its why the rest of us pushed back last fall and didn't purchase TFS and your sales projections tanked.
You bumped the raid up to a few days after release to ensure less players were ready, able and could complete the raid. And then give an advantage to the very players you really do hope win the race.
disappointing for sure but, not really unexpected.

You whine alot

1 ReplyDidn’t realise it was a competition? An advantage in what? They will have access to the very same stuff you will on day 1.
-
Well it's obvious that the reason bungie did this was so people can have more information online about final shape in terms of marketing.. Think about all the people who got early access they made videos review videos of final shape! It's obvious bungee did this because think about the preorders a lot of percentages for preorders is very low according to bungie standards when they compared to other releases...

"We all lift..together" Except for streamers who get to play 3 weeks early

1 ReplyEdited by Meow Fairy: 5/30/2024 9:44:31 AMYou mean they get the knowledge to create day one builds ? Thats pretty cool because you see...unlike us "normal" players, they WILL share these builds on their respective channels. So in the end we are all going to get these builds quicker thanks to them. (Also who cares about who will get the world first, did you planned on being the chosen one ?)

3 RepliesAll I can say to this is lol… who cares.

Edited by Kildozer666: 5/30/2024 7:08:49 PMYep. A lot of changes Bungie is making for the launch of this expansion seems to screw over the regulars and only accommodate those that have the means to no-life the game or make their living off of the game. Whether that be intentional or just a side-effect of their decisions Bungie altering the day 1 raid launch completely screws over the majority of normies that would be going for a clear. With the servers being overloaded, people unable to login due to server traffic, bugs, etc.

1 ReplyI hate to break it to you… you’re not getting worlds first. Them getting to test -blam!- a week early isn’t changing anything

1 ReplyEdited by Drakogarnus: 5/30/2024 3:11:59 AMits even funnier when you see the amount of people locked out of their characters for 90 days right before the final shape due to bungies cross save system losing progress and exotics and everything, anyone who thinks bungie cares is gullible or a boot licker. also apparently i was the only issue with the "cross save system" meanwhile over the coarse of this month ive seen several people with my issues even foreigners. its disgusting. was also banned temporarily for "ban evasion" after i was temp banned before. because i posted about them not caring. imagine getting banned for ban evasion after your ban was temporary and the timer was up. ill probably be banned again for posting in the forums after my ban is up. if you are smart start pushing back against bungo

While it does suck from a fan perspective hoping that everyone gets equal footing, from a development perspective it is actually beneficial in the long run. I just look at it as an advertised playtest, cos I’m sure there would have been plenty of playtesting done in the lead up to FS, but that’s the double edged sword of using content creators for advertising purposes I suppose
-
Literally it doesn’t affect you. Just stop.
-
Bungie lied. Duh. Besides overpricing their crap and selling reskins, lying is their THING.
-
You’re behaving in an immature way.

4 RepliesIs this different than a press release of other games?

People take this stuff way too seriously.
-
10 RepliesWhy do people care about this so much? The streamers don’t keep anything from their play test, and even if they know how to get that stuff back, how does that affect you? If you weren’t watching their vids, you’d never know and you wouldn’t be affected. Their play test has provided a little bit of insight on the TFS, and I’m more excited than before because of it.

Nobody cares about this

The best part is when they caveat their videos with this is not sponsored by Bungie.

Streamers got flown out to play a preview build of the game on burner accounts so nothing gets carried over. Streamers also did not get to play the campaign outside of a few set peices and some got to try out a new strike. They got to play in the sandbox for a few days and screw around with stuff for testing and feedback purposes. Companies like IGN and Gamespot got review builds of the game which contain everything for review purposes outside of episodes and the raid for obvious reasons.

Edited by Mortal_Resonance: 5/28/2024 6:52:46 PMHuge update to this - Fallout Plays posted a video revealing he got to play early, but he also makes it clear that they didn't get full access to Final Shape - they got timed access to a pre-release build. This would also mean that they're not carrying anything over i.e. they got to play with all of the revealed exotics, but will still have to unlock them like everyone else post-release. Unfortunately my dude, streamers were prepared way before most of us anyway. Most streamers, being that they play the game substantially more than most people, get into the nitty-gritty of how things work, weapon stats and synergies, exotic perks etc. They are by their nature players that invest a lot of time and mental energy into this game. They do all of the research and testing, and then share what they know with their viewers. Some of the best builds I've used in this game come from watching certain content creators! For average joe, we work 9-5 and game for a few hours a day. For content creators, streamers and the unemployed (aka kids), that 9-5 is the game. Ever wonder why the first completion normally goes to streamers or eSports teams? It's not necessarily because they had early access - they live this game and so figure things out in one run that might take average player three runs to realize. That stuff aside, streamers and content creators are the advertising platform for the game. Want to reach a few hundred thousand gamers to let them know about your upcoming game/expansion? Give a popular streamer early access and let them advertise the game for you!

Bro, it’s a video game. Let them have it, they do all the testing and I just copy pasta their load out.

Edited by Ruuod: 5/29/2024 8:21:21 AMadvantage for what? raid prep? as if you would be able to compete in worlds first. No day1 clear, not even pantheon week 4 The people they invited have done several day ones and datto for example was often within the fastest clears. They dont need this playthrough for raid prep. They're good enough without it. So whats this really about? The good ol' streamer bad thing?

None of this stuff isn't scripted. There's a reason no non streamer team has taken a day 1 since eater of worlds despite the fact that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of vastly better raiders out there than streamers. We don't know what Bungie gives those people unless it's leaked. They had access to seasonal plans months in advance and we only knew about it because it got leaked.

Yes press events are a thing that us how games generate hype, every expansion since D2 came out has had one of these events where bungie invites people from the press or people with big followings to play a test version of the game to basically advertise it, it's not a big deal
