Edit: I don’t like that they touched sunbracers in the first place, they weren’t an issue. I wish they focused on exotics that need help, and not ones that are already strong.

Did an onslaught yesterday where I didn't get to kill anything because a sunbracers warlock was camping the spawns..... For some, this is fun, me I like to actually play the game, and I'm not a big fan of idle games

Sunbracers have been busted for years, only being allowed to exist because other exotics were even more busted (Lunafaction, Phoenix Protocol, Starfire Protocol). This nerf was very justified and also is just a slap on the wrist for the exotic. It will still be exceptional and overtuned, just less so than it is currently.

1 grenade less isn't going to affect you that much. Normally 4 grenades is enough given that most ads only spawn from 2 locations. Pair it with a dragons breath if you are that concerned.

Sun bracers have been strong for seasons independent of the artifact. They were a main choice for soloing in the GotD dungeon because they were basically infinitely loopable with insane ad clear. And even before that two sunbracer warlocks could easily cheese riven by themselves. I don't care if you think it should be nerfed or not, but it was definitely not un expected, I've been expecting them to do something about them for a while

I personally don’t think it’ll move the bar on their usage much though… they’re still at least a league above starfire and dawns chorus, rain of fire (is too niche) and wings of sacred dawn are significantly more PvP oriented, and promethean spur is still bugged, so I would be surprised if the nerf accomplishes what Bungie would like it to anyhow.

Though, I would have preferred if they didn't touch Sunbracers at all, or at least added something else, like a second Solar Grenade charge, or increased Scorch stacks on Solar Grenades, to compensate for the nerfs. That's the one thing I hate the most about Bungie's so-called "balance" changes. They nerf every good aspect of an Exotic or subclass that made them a little too potent, and give it nothing to compensate, often resulting in the subclass or Exotic being underpowered, rather than being "brought in line" with the others.

I usually get 300 kills in the Devil's Lair strike. When I find a handful of solar grenades heading my way before I can even knock an arrow, it needs nerfed. Finding yourself at less than 50 kills as an ad clearer in a strike of over 400 enemies is ridiculous.

Even without the seasonal artifact the way you can chain the grenades to reaquire your melee and chain this back to back is still going to be strong to use. Ahhamkara spine was nerfed… Synthoceps is going to Be neutered…. That is a NERF.. [spoiler]…and yes I was maining synthos long before even banner of war or strand beserker existed on a titan.. so I’m pizzed about it. Adapt, overcome and kick azz as normal. They aren’t going to change their mind anyway.[/spoiler]

Sunbracers were OP outside of the Artifact. Sure, the Artifact did buff them quite a bit, especially for Boss Damage, but since the Drop of Solar 3.0, Sunbracers have been Nutty. Overshadowed by better Damage options, but nutty nonetheless.

Stop playing warlock. Newbies are mostly warlock. They will buy eververse items for warlock class. Suddenly they will realize this class is no good and will move to either hunter or titan. They will spend on eververse items again. Business

I use a Sunbracer build at times as a Warlock main and it’s absurdly powerful but the inability to see the battle field has made me use it a lot less. All they’ve done is help clear the screen slightly when using them. It’s a small nerf and needed.

The artifacts mods basically do nothing to sunbracers. It encourages you to play solar. But it doesnt make sunbracers better.

It’s been getting heavy usage for over half a year at this point, long before this season released. The seasonal artifact is not related to the nerf.
