Here are some common mistakes and/or a-hole moves I oftentimes see as well as some tips for creating a better Onslaught experience for yourself and others:
1. Don’t leave - A full 50 wave run is approximately a 45 min. commitment. If you don’t have that time or only wish to play 10 waves, pick the leftmost node. However, I understand that sometimes life happens. If you have to leave suddenly, try to spend whatever scraps you have on boosting the remaining fireteam’s defenses.
2. Save heavy ammo for base buildup phases and post spark dunk rooms - I see way too many people picking up the ammo before entering the spark dunk room, which oftentimes leaves those already inside without heavy ammo upon exiting. Saving it allows you to burn your heavy on all of the adds and tanky orange bar enemies inside the spark dunk room, thus expediting your run. When you do pick up heavy, make an effort to inform your teammates. Sometimes people forget that there’s a heavy ammo crate or get busy building up defenses. Remember, the ammo will disappear after 15 seconds of the first person opening it or at the start of waves N4 and N6.
3. If you are on a tether Hunter, pick up the spark - The fact that you can go invisible eliminates the danger of dunking the spark. This is especially true when facing the Fallen who can freeze the spark runner which is more often than not a death sentence, especially in waves 30-50. Another fantastic spark runner is any Strand user with Grapple. If you have one of those and they insist on being the spark runner (or are one yourself), let them get the first three kills upon opening the door so that they can generate a tangle and Grapple fly their way to the spark dunk site. This is both efficient and very fast.
4. Wait for your fireteam to rally before entering the boss room - Unless your teammate(s) are AFK or taking an exorbitant amount of time, there’s no reason to start the boss encounter if your fireteam has not rallied. Sometimes they’re swapping to their boss room builds or stayed a few seconds behind to pick up batteries or orbs for their Armor Charge builds. Rushing in without your fireteam ready is not a faster method than waiting because they won’t be able to adequately help you DPS the boss without Heavy ammo or their supers.
5. Don’t get yourself killed trying to get an unrealistic revive - This is especially true post wave 30 when the Extinguish modifier is active. Revives are important but not if it’s going to cost you your life. Stay alive, try to keep your ADU free of enemies, and wait for your team to self-revive if their ghost is in a dangerous area or surrounded by Cursed Thrall or Exploder Shanks.
6. Use your supers! (Wisely) - So many people hold onto their supers like they’ll never get them back or use them in meaningless situations. If your super cooldown is slow enough that you want to save it for a hairy situation, then remember that the mandatory objectives and/or difficult enemies happen on waves N3, N5, N8, and N9. If you’re using Orpheus Rig, Phoenix Protocol, or other super refunding exotics, use your supers more liberally. It’ll expedite your runs and help your team with orb generation.
7. Give commendations - There are a lot of New Lights and returning players that need commendations to get to the next rank. Help them out. It only takes a couple of seconds of your time. Help your fellow Guardians out.
8. Just strive to be a decent person. You do not exist in a vacuum. There are other people that exist and you should strive to treat others with basic courtesy. Don’t let anonymity turn you into a calloused POS.

2 RepliesI got a couple of ones too: Don't nuke the bosses too quickly. Kill a bunch of ads to get more scrap for upgrades. This is especially true of later waves! If your ADU is not in immediate danger of blowing up and your defenses are damaged (especially fully upgraded ones!) throw a battery at them to heal it. A dead defense is no defense, and worse still, a dead upgraded defense is wasted scraps. If a tormentor decides to focus on you, try and lead it away from the ADU. The longer you can keep its focus on you, the better, especially if you clear the ads first and then lure it away. Avoid walking in front of firing turrets if you can. It blocks their line of sight to targets. For Gathering Storm arc Hunters specifically, don't be afraid to throw your super at the ADU circle. It's a good tactic to stop a bunch of enemies swarming it. Other good gathering storm targets are mobile boss tier (including tormentors) or mobile pyramid bosses, as they will then act like a mobile lightning rod and take out any of their allies they wander near to for the super's duration. Try not to walk past batteries unless picking it up would put you in a life or death situation. If you have clear line of sight to the ADU, throwing the battery 9 times out of 10 will make the battery land in the ADU. Even if it doesn't need healing, throwing it at the ADU at full health grants bonus scrap.

2 RepliesOnly part I have to comment on would be number 3; I've run several Onslaughts where I'd be the only Void Hunter on the team and someone else would rush to grab the spark first. Not a complaint, merely pointing out that this isn't necessarily a failing on the part of the Void Hunter.
