Things like mothkeepers wraps or precious scars fit SO MUCH BETTER with the intended "support" role that warlocks supposedly have, and the vast majority of warlock exotics are incredibly bland. Including the one just revealed.
"Final blows from weapons with a damage type matching your subclass energy create a burst of healing around you that grants allies restoration. After reviving or being revived, you gain an aura that provides overshields to you and nearby allies."
That right there is a support warlock's WET DREAM. No one wants warlocks for a reason that isn’t Well of Radiance.
"Your grenade becomes a cage of loyal moths that release on impact and fly toward the nearest target or ally. If they reach a target, they detonate in a blinding explosion; if they reach an ally, the moths grant your ally a Void overshield."
COME ON. Warlocks are the class that LITERALLY EAT GRENADES
Why would I ever use that thing when weaver's trance and spreadable poison exist...
Edit: I DID NOT SAY BAD EXOTICS I SAID BLAND EXOTICS

Edited by Infamous067: 5/15/2024 4:20:05 PMSpeak for yourself, I never once chose my warlock to be an L support bot. I chose my warlock because the devs showed nova bomb clearing out a whole room back in the D1 reveal trailer. I don’t want more boring support exotics, I want lethal exotics that only boost my power to make me a god. I want space magic, not be in the backlines supporting my team. Better yet, I can support my team by decimating everything on my path lol.
-
I personally think solar warlock is boring asf. Nothing about it makes me want to use that elemental subclass.
-
Punch tribe here. Give Wizrobes cool exotics.
-
I’m tired of people pigeonholing warlocks into a “support” role. 1. Warlocks in lore are the most attuned to the light. 2. Just because titans are known to run into a fight blind punching doesn’t mean warlocks can’t run onto a Battlefield and F stuff up themselves. They are extremely powerful. I’m a titan main that’s used warlock a lot the last year and we have to stop pushing warlocks into a corner just to “support” the field. It’s a stigma that’s grossly holding down a lot of players that don’t want to play a support role but love warlock kits. Well of Radiance is a cancer on warlock. Whether people like to admit it or not it’s one of the biggest reasons people hate the subclass cause they are forced into the role. I personally hope it’s nerfed hard for final shape. Because warlock has so many great builds but LFGs and fireteams hold their warlocks back just so they don’t die. Um hey maybe you should figure out why you’re dying instead of forcing a teammate to keep you alive. Stop pushing the entire warlock class into a role it wasn’t designed to be in.

As a Titan main that plays all three, I have to agree, Warlocks get some lackluster styling and exotics, give them something strong or cool, or new. Us Titans, we get the fancy schmancy crayon-launcher missiles, something any Titan big and small can enjoy. Hunters get even wilder Arc kabooms just because they are the true god of Thunder. *sad Titan noises* Warlocks get a Tangle melee thing? Bungie must have sent the Warlocks to the Principals office, literal Suspension, what a Tangle, yes I did legibly type that in crayola.

Edited by Zodleon: 5/16/2024 9:51:26 AMHunter got a glaive exotic that is worse than synthocepts at its job.
-
As a Warlock main… we kinda got the best exotics 😬 also, if warlocks were only support it would be hella boring
-
I feel so sorry for Hunters and Warlocks… They don’t have PEREGRINE GREAVES👊🏻
-
Edited by moist: 5/15/2024 10:44:30 PMWarlocks shouldn’t be locked back as support Edit:I’m a hunter
-
Hunters have the best exotics in my opinion. I have trouble building by Titan and Warlock. I guess their god-tier abilities balance it out, though.
-
Agreed. Bungie definitely hates Warlocks. The exotics are proof of it. It is like they are scared of the title “Warlock”. We should be consuming grenades, melees and class abilities like candy in our exotics. Yet all we get is stand in this rift or use this specific subclass. It is saddening.
-
Trade you moths for necrotic grips.
-
Hunters got the short end of the stick this time.
-
They are not bland, warlocks require buildcrafting to make the exotic go brrrrr
-
Edited by Jett-jaguarx: 5/15/2024 11:08:50 PMIt is bad. I would rather it turn the color of Rifts brown. Because it's -blam!-.
-
People actually forget the concept of destiny. Titans were the tanks. Hunters was the dps. Warlocks was the healer. This is evident in supers and class abilities.
-
Precious scars is bland though.
-
First time? (Hunter main)
-
Hunters and Warlocks got shafted with the new Final Shape exotics. Hunters get a few skip grenade pieces on arc attacks and warlocks have to use three melees for a shackle nade. Titans on the other hand get rocket launcher barricade. While I don’t think it’s gonna be broken damage wise, it’s so much more fun, viable, and cool than the other two.
-
You are incredibly limited in your knowledge of Warlocks. I don't care how much you think you know, "bland exotics" just show how little you know. We warlocks have devour, rifts, and healing grenades that all provide healing. The last two provide healing for the entire team. We also have Well. Then we have exotics that greatly improve those effects like Stag, Nezarec(by providing constant abilities to proc devour), Battle Harmony, and others. Not to mention all the extremely useful damage exotics we have. Bottom line: if you are having trouble staying alive, it's because you are really, really bad. Or possibly you are just talking about pvp. Warlock in pvp requires some actual thought to be effective. Warlocks are supposed to be intelligent. Make a Titan for pvp. Sounds like that's what you need. It probably won't help you though.
-
I’ll wait till we have the full perk description before casting judgement. That could just be the main portion of the exotic and the other part weren’t given at the time
-
At least it’s not some rift gimmick, like half of the warlock exotics.
-
Titans get missile barricades, hunters get a huge amount of skips… Warlock gets a chest piece that makes a melee suspend, and we don’t even know if it’s from one melee or all three. What a joke
-
Look at what the prismatics need to mimic a FRACTION of shackles power…
-
It's punishment for stealing a Titan Exotic, and turning it into a fragment with a 4 second cool down You deserve every nerf and bland exotic you get, I know, nerf Stasis Turrets , 30 minute cool down between each turret
-
Just a hypothesis but I believe that in dissolving the inherent identities of the classes they aim to have everyone simply be Guardians in the future.
