Reduce the AA on Throwing Knives

Hunters shouldn't be able to throw it in your general direction and hit you regardless of where your actual critbox is located. Slide post an opponent? Just throw it and win! Aiming at your feet? Yup they just scored another free knife! Seriously. Change this.

  • It's easy to miss throwing knives. It's high risk, therefore it should be a higher reward if you do hit. And weighted knife in particular has such a long wind up before the throw, it takes dedication to learn how to compensate for that. If I play against someone, I always assume they can nuke me with any ability at any given time unless I've seen them just use it and know for certain they don't have a double (or triple) charge on it, or exotics that give such. If I die to a Hunter knife, then I probably wasn't paying attention to this and deserve it, in which case good play on the other person. And yeah, I'm a Hunter main saying this. The Hunter melees require a higher skill curve to master because few of them are exactly alike, both within the same subclasses and between them. The closest within a subclass in terms of similar execution or functionality is the arc ones (sans Tempest Strike) and between is snare bombs and proximity knives. Whereas Titan gets the option of literally copy paste ability Now In Different Flavours across three Light classes. And Warlock is even worse as it gets a similarly executed melee option across all three Light Classes and one Dark class. And that's being generous by saying the Strand one is too different because of the additional charges. Hunter gets these melees that aren't really shared with one another in terms of execution and/or functionality: Fan of knives with a wide spread Quick throwing knife Knife with a long windup that has to be compensated for Rope dart that bounces between targets, that in order to get the most of, we have to CATCH it Shurikens that can bounce off targets and corners. Tempest strike, which is a slide and execute style melee/aspect And then you turn to the regular arc melees, which are both punches, and that's technically another style of melee to learn. And smoke and proximity, which is about placement. Hunters have more to learn. Titans and Warlocks slap on any subclass almost and the melee is the same but in a different colour and can basically just mash melee and it'll probably work in most cases regardless. So yeah, if you get killed by a Hunter knife, that player took the time to learn it and earn it, and is very much also shame on you for not assuming they'd have a knife to smoke you with.
