Somewhat rare, but often enough to be very annoying. Melee an enemy when they are a one-melee kill, and my character/camera hones in on them like normal, but no sound or damage occurs. Not a range problem; just fails to actually count a melee that has no reason not to count. Very frustrating to die because of this

That title made me think you were trying to melee people's ghosts to try to finish them off or something.
-
This has been an issue since D2 came out
-
they're rare?
-
I feel like it’s because of melee lunge,we should have a melee radius instead.
-
Unfortunately that's what you get with P2P connections. Sadge. It is frustrating though.
-
Peragrines useless sometimes
-
It’s even more strange with a sword — you hear the *CHNK!* as you connect, but no damage.
-
Yeah remember when they said Synthoceps melee lunge increase was creating problems? I do.
-
Yep. Experiencing this a lot lately. Opponent has a fraction of health left my melee “hits” but doesn’t finish then me with all health and meleed once an immediate death. Warlocks need to have at least one melee that can be one hit kill like other classes
-
All I know is regardless of whatever bungie says the hunter knife unpowered melee is without a doubt in my mind slower than all other melees in the game. Even with the addition of turbo melee I know the 50/50 or trade will never go my way.
-
I wouldn’t even say it’s rare at this point. Happens to me almost every game
-
-
Latency, poor coding, Destiny has a tick rate equal to a game released in 1999.
-
PvP Ghost bullets. PvP Ghost Shoulder Charge. PvP Ghost Genades and PvP Ghost Supers. Not just melee I'm afraid.

The real question everyone should be asking is are titan players just better at melees or are titans better at melees? I can almost never out melee a titan but most of the time I think that's just because the person playing the titan is so much more confident in spamming the melee button. The only time ghost melees really happen with me is when it has something to do with strand and even then its not that big of a deal. I also don't use a shotgun much so I don't melee as often as some other people. It does look pretty silly when you lunge and bounce back like you hit something that you didn't hit.

Are you a warlock?
-
Very frustrating indeed
