Returning player to Destiny franchise - what to do?

Hi all, Coming back as a Destiny player is quite overwhelming. I played D1 daily on the Xbox back in the day until House of Wolves. After that DLC I kind of quit playing. Now nearly a decade later, my friend convinced me to play again so I started a fresh account on PC. And man there is a lot to learn/do. I'll be getting all the DLC's tomorrow but to conclude; what are the activities I must do before the new expansion comes out? Appreciate it guardians!

Power level, you should be able to use the gift of the Thundergods chest to power up quickly. Then the rest is pretty open for free play so to speak.

  • I would finish beyond light and light fall campaigns. And pick up the gift of the thunder gods

Done this a lot First thing go to hall of champions & grab the thundergods chest, it'll get you to 1810 power cap straight, no worries about levelling then. Run lightfall campaign to get strand. Run beyond light to get stasis. Then do the post campaign light fall stuff to unlock strand fully. On your ghost use the maximum glimmer boost perk, you need millions of glimmer to buy subclass stuff & this passively saves lots of grind. Spend a few hours going from planet to planet getting region chests & do all the lost sectors once, clear the maps, it's very calming, will max your glimmer, & removes some of the anxiety Clear the markers in your menu, top left as you look, it's the 1st mission of every campaign, dares of eternity, n a few seasonal bits, this removes clutter & helps with feeling overwhelmed. Follow @VexAssistant on twitter & turn notifications on, it's a bot that tweets when a vex incursion is about to start, this public event rewards you an exotic armour you don't have, again do this passively & just do them when you're free. Vex incursion is a neonuma public event, only do this once you've unlocked neonuma Grab rivens wishes from Mara at the helm, do the first 5 & use the tokens for exotics you don't own from her, or craft an apex predator. Do the into the light quests from arcite, to at least get the guaranteed guns. Grab then all so you do them passively n can target finish them near the end of the season. Do that on 3 characters if you're running 3, no need to, your call. If you've time then it's exotic quests, the other 3 campaigns, maybe the brave seal. If you buy lightfall deluxe, you get the season's, prioritize this season, save engrams (they drop passively) then when you have 70+ put discipline armourer on your ghost & buy 7-8 armour pieces from riven in each slot, it's very high stat, then use d2armorpicker to get an easy triple 100 build. It's all VERY VERY overwhelming, I've just finished this account & I'm 300+ hours deep, best advice is every time you log just complete something, work at clearing clutter & unlocking things. Any questions just ask, always around.
