How is it an issue when you can simply back out of the activity?

Waste time and is jarring. I think mostly a problem newer players would be impacted by the most.

It's more if you are a new player who has bought the most recent expansion or update and the first thing in the game you do is the tutorial then once done immediately get flung into to random mission you can easily get confused. There is no downside of allowing players to launch the initial quest themselves so that they can get acclimated to things first.
