I was planning on playing D2 with a friend yesterday. However, when I joined his fireteam, we couldn't hear each other. I called him via cellphone and tried to troubleshoot it. I play on a Xbox X and he plays on a PS, not sure which (either 4 or 5). Checked the voice chat button in the settings and it was on "Off", which was strange, as I had used it a few months ago with another friend (haven't touched D2 since then). Launching D2 required an update (reasonably small). Tried to turn it to "On", but it immediately switches back to "Off" (i.e. showed being "On" for half a second, then returned to "Off"). Same thing happened to my friend. Tried it a couple more times, same thing. Attempted to reset everything to default, didn't work. Rebooted D2, didn't work. Rebooted my Xbox X, didn't work. Tried loading D2 on a Xbox One, same problem. Reinstalled D2 today, rebooted Xbox X before opening, still didn't work. Am using an Xbox approved headset (wired Razer brand), and the console confirms it's there. Anyone know of a fix? I've seen posts a few years old reporting the same issue... Not sure if the latest update reintroduced the old bug? Bungie, if you read this, please fix it. Nothing is more infuriating than not being able to communicate w/ friends in an online game.
