Right now the shiny weapon drop is ridiculously rare and a weapon attunement doesn't seem to work as a hard loot focusing mechanic. As it stands I doubt I'll be able to get perfect rolls on all the Brave Weapons before Final Shape much less a perfect roll with the random dropped shiny ornament.
I'm all for the ornament being random on weapons, but say someone completes Legend Onslaught then those players should have access to the Brave Ornaments as an unlock

1 ReplyThat is litteraly the point...its supposed to be rare. Having a god roll shiny weapon should be a very rare thing that you can really be happy and proud of. It doesnt change anything for the guns effectiveness. So its ok to have very rare cosmetics as well Its pretty healthy.

6 RepliesA shiny variant should only matter if you are 5 years old

4 RepliesShine weapons are the ones with ornaments. What they crying about is specific types of rolls, bungie can't guarantee double perks , there's no solution except grinding.

1 ReplyTbh I think god rolls are overrated. Don't get me wrong, there are perks or perk combos on weapons that get the job done faster or are more suited for a certain situation. But honestly, I think what makes a "god roll" is whether a set of perks meshes with an individual playstyle. And it's okay not to have every gun as a god roll, let alone shiny on top of that Like, I got a supposed "god roll" succession. Wasn't shiny. Do I care much for it? Not really, I am terrible with snipers. Therefore that "god roll" is actually useless to me. So... Is it really worth stressing out chasing perfect rolls for weapons, half of which you probably won't even use, and the other half already exists a better option, or will most likely exist a better option in a couple months time? It's a game. Chase the loot if you want. Get excited over the occasional shiny if you want. But if you are stressing you won't get everything you want and aren't happy you aren't going to get everything you want, probably should take a step back, my friend.

Excellent idea Bungie hire this Guardian

3 RepliesNo, it should stay rare.

10 RepliesIt would be boring if we were all able to obtain the perfect roll for each and every weapon. Plus the shining skin is just an extra. A solid roll on a normal weapon is what I'm going for. If it drops on a shiny one - sure, I take that. But overall I'm looking for the right perks and not the visuals. I may just keep one as a souvenir.

4 RepliesIt’s not really rare doing the weekly quests gives a guaranteed limited version

Even if they have to be more rare, it would be much better to have them as one time unlocks.

I have the Hung Jury attuned; I still get a lot of Edge Transits. I mean, I wanted the game to be in a Forsaken-like state again, but this is not exactly what I meant.

1 ReplyPersonally I think it would be nice if you got one when you clear out the special tormentor wave. Its pretty challenging to clear that wave out before they despawn. Would be a nice twist. You get a guarantee shiny one when finishing the weapon quests, which are very easy if you just go do a 10 wave with anything chain reaction for the gl and sword, snipe just get cloudstrike, scout anything with explosive payload. Riskrunner for smg etc. You should finish these quests in couple of waves of the 10 wave one. But yeah making it an ornament would be nice, but bungie wants this to be a ' you should've been there' kind of thing.

6 RepliesWhich version of Onslaught do the limited edition weapons drop from? The 10 or 50 wave version?

How else is Bungie going to get the gambling addicts to keep grinding away at the game to increase play time?

1 ReplyI dismantled all of mine. Not worth any hype!

1 ReplyGetting the extra perks are nice (when it happens) but I'm not over the moon about the "shiny" ornaments anyway, particularly since they don't take shaders. The normal look suits me fine.

2 RepliesThe event lasts however long and can't we have something special that you don't see all over the place?

Edited by Ferus Lux: 4/13/2024 8:44:05 AMThats the whole point. If they were more common they wouldn't have as much value. Onslaught hasn't even been out for a week yet and the entitlement is starting as usual. They are purely fkn cosmetic. When you drop, it will be a great feeling. If you don't get them...life goes on. This community complains about having nothing of value to grind for but when truly rare loot is added they want it instantly. Here's a tip: play legend to get double the rewards. Up to wave 30 is doable by all players who have thumbs. Good luck.

5 RepliesI view them less as Ornaments and more like Shiny Pokémon. The effect they have on actual Gameplay is minuscule. There are some double perk rolls that combine really well, but for the average player I’d say it doesn’t matter. And like with a shiny Pokémon, with how rare they currently are AND there being a way to more specifically (not completely) hunt for a Weapon, I (for one) get excited upon seeing one drop. I have so far only gotten 1 to drop, and while I did just check the roll, realize it was bad and dismantled it, those few seconds from seeing it drop to checking the roll felt WAY more exciting than loot has the past year(s). So… I for one, don’t want them to just be ornaments.

11 RepliesThe things being rare is the entire point. They are literally useless beyond that, there is no need for them to be anything but rare. It's incentive for dedicated players to actually grind and get excited for loot drops. Making it too easy or too guaranteed to get removes the entire reason for its existence.
-
It’s okay. They should be rare. The weapons have plenty of good rolls that we don’t NEED double perk shiny versions. However, when we DO get one, it’s exciting because they’re rare.

6 RepliesWait, there's an actual ornament too? When you dismantle them?
