Players already have those age old "reasons" too keep logging in. I kid you not, the only thing that can be said to make any sense out of restricting the flow of content, is that the weapons are held back to attempt too keep player engagement numbers steadily higher than normal. This has become expectable with most content in the game. But this is a free update. What does bungie have to gain by restricting us? All my life, delaying the inevitable has been the most destructive choice i have seen somebody make. Be it friends, family, or stuff you'd hear about on the news. There is going to be a massive influx of players that won't play at all until the specific weapon they want is available. Players have been given too many good or bad reasons too not play destiny this past year. We've lost lots of players over time due to drip feeding content. Taking the free element aside, if we pay for something, why should we be told when, and how, to use it? It may move "Some" player engagement too other weeks where it would've been lower, but this is a bandaid to a non existent issue. I really can't stop coming up with ways too say or explain how "there is no good reason to timegate content. Especially free comtent". If the content can't produce any results without it, then it's just bad content that the vast majority won't enjoy anyways. Why waste time?

Good lord Wrench you’re on a roll and the voice of reason all week. They compromised the roll out so that shows they’re paying attention. Anyone playing this game long enough knows why they time gate certain things.

Yeah I think they’re trying to show they’re paying attention. The weapons are all S tier so players can grind an arsenal with many being best in class weapons. How people have spun that into a negative is beyond me.

Not to mention up until the stream they were whining about the weapons being remakes. Now they gotta have all those remakes as soon as possible lol
