Remove the time gate.
You are taking the one small W you had and still trying to milk a community that has all time low sentiment going into your final dlc.
Who makes these decisions.
When everybody agrees that its an awful idea, you know you messed up because we rarely do agree as a whole.
Edit:
People saying i am complaining to complain:
- I have over 10,000 hours in the destiny franchise
- multiple day 1 raid clears
- almost 400,000 d2 pvp kills
- ran a clan for almost a decade across 3 platforms
- steamed to thousands and made thousands streaming destiny
I say that to say this: you think i like to complain? Maybe I and many others have an inclination of what is good for the players (game) and what is bad for the players (game).
I have done everything and watched this game fall from greatness. Its mistake after mistake.
I rarely post if, ever.
Time gating the weapons is an awful idea to farm engagement but bungie arent afforded that luxury with preorders down and player sentiment so low.
Looks like a poll was taken: 85% of players agree its a bad idea on here and tbh most players i know and see with similar playtime and experience think its an awful idea.
To the people being contrarian or ‘you will complain there is no content if they release them all’, when have i ever complained about feasting on content? Never.
We have been so starved of content, that only ever happened back in d1 after comet expansions, since then its been nothing but shallow time gated seasons. Its been a famine.
People know the final shape is coming, they will be hyped using their guns or resting up. They wont be complaining.
The people who complain about anything will complain regardless and this post isnt about them.
Those getting into semantics, 99% is an expression and despite you horrific attitudes- the majority of people across social media seem to agree (which is rare) that time gating is generally bad in this instance.
Its not lore story or missions. It is weapons we have used for years, but with limited time skins. Its fomo farming for engagement which to me is a very bad precedent to set when sentiment is spiralling and the last dlc was awfully taken by the community.

Stopped reading when you started bragging.

99% of the people who play this game are braindead and cant take a little waiting is what the title should say
we rarely do agree as a whole.
Well, that's not true. This forum is a feedback loop.
-
While I do respect the time you have put into this game, and I agree this decision was a L. Saying all that, there is a poll on this very forum that has been up for 8hrs. It's 85% not in favor to 15% in favor of Bungie's decision. Not 99%, but still a lop-sided majority.
-
Honestly in this community we shouldn't have to list our accomplishments just for people to listen! Stuff that you say stuff that I said in the past it has nothing to do with the game it has to do more with bungee's poor decisions based on ego. Frankly they will never listen unless the community and sales goes down to 10% .. Destiny 2 is basically the titanic at this point just before it's gonna sink

Boo hoo...

Woo hoo!!! I made the 1% club!!!

You're actually talking about 99% of the 1%. The real 99% don't care.

WOW you're so cool please sign my t*ts

Edited by zombie_killa_196: 3/29/2024 8:05:24 PMHow do you know it’s 99% of the community?

Only idiots try to speak for large percentages of communities.

release all guns —> playerbase spikes, everyone gets what they want in a week, playerbase falls and people complain bc of lack of content release guns thru drip —> people complain they wont get their guns instantly, however playerbase will not spike then fall all at once, instead it will have a steadily increase for a short time with tiny spikes and falls each week you see why they did what they did (the complaining happens either way)

What about those of us in the 1% community? Those of us that go flawless, 2 man raids and solo lost sectors fervently disagree. We have carried this community for decades.

Nice CV but nobody is buying what you are selling

A large portion of destiny players don't use this forum. So how did you get their vote?

Edited by Zodleon: 3/29/2024 12:11:17 PMA statistic of "99%" is used as an expression when the assumption is that literally almost everyone agrees. By using it without any actual numbers to back it up it effectively means you decided you could speak for the community as a whole. Realistically, ppl likely don't really care that you don't want the time gate ppl care that you effectively attempted to speak for everyone. Especially when your "sample size" which im being generous in calling it that, is this forum and maybe ppl you talk to. That of course ignores this
3. The 99% consists of relevant players aka not contrarian forum members who spam emojis.
Which shows you're willing to make assumptions about ppls motivations and disregard evidence that doesn't support your assertion. The presentation was just poor in general and was likely to get the responses you did.

They just updated the schedule so all the guns will be released by week 3. So better, but still wish it was all day 1.

Edited by ELDER31674: 3/28/2024 1:27:06 AMSay no to Fomo just don't pre order bro's. That the only way bungie will learn. Upvote if you think i'm right
Who makes these decisions.
The higher-ups and their streamer buddies. The fact that these gimmicks don't mean anything and how some of the community is acting about this shows that there is something majorly wrong with a lot of this community. It shows a lot of you never learn, and never will knowing this has been the norm and you refuse to face it. This is on all of you expecting anything more than what has happened for years.
Who makes these decisions.
A disorganized poorly managed company Instead of righting the ship, Bungie steers right into an iceberg And leaks are the higher ups plan to abandon ship after sonys check clears and leave there mess for someone else to clean up
