Supremacy is a chore
I may be on my own here, but playing Supremacy for the Guardian Games loot has for the past three weeks been a most frustrating experience, where progress to the Platinum score is just through sheer reluctant perseverance rather than wanting to stay in the playlist because I enjoy it. This is the only time I ever play Supremacy.
I'm admittedly a Crucible casual I play PVP solo, and avoid Trials like it's the plague. Tried it a couple of times, didn't like it. That's fine, not every aspect of this game is for me. . . But why does Supremacy feel like I'm sweating hard against 2 and 3 -stacks, team-firing against my team of solos? It just feels like I'm practice for my opponents before they roll into Trials for another drop of Igneous, Incisor or The Summoner.

1 ReplySkill issue? I’ve been loving PvP this season averaging a 13kda only doing solo PvP. Supremacy doesn’t have skill based matchmaking though so no artificial protection system for players like you 🤣

I got the platinum reward the first week in supremacy as well as the pve side. Haven’t touched supremacy since as it doesn’t suit my play style at all. -
Yup! I went in Supremacy just to get destroyed game-atter-game for my Platinum and my Glow. LOL I'm the Ultimate Trash PVP player who barely scraped a single digit kill and scored on the bottom. But when Iron Banner rolls in, I go for my Resets and play a little extra (except Eruption).

I do not like PVP for one reason or another, but hey I went in there and got all of my supremacy done for all 3 weeks. What else is there to do? Just jump in and do your best there are many that are in the same boat as you and I.

Not forcing me into thst mode. I played it for the skimmer got it and never really wanted to go back, unless i want to.

People much more skilled than I at PVP have stated that there is clearly something wrong with the matchmaking in PVP right now. Something changed. It's not really a secret at this point, considering the rate at which players are dropping out of games, and how frequent blowouts have been. I think Destiny made some good changes to the sandbox to freshen up PVP, but breaking matchmaking may have done a lot of harm to their player base.

It's a bit easier if you use the Powerful Attraction mod on your class item so you can pick up crests from a distance

It pains me to admit this, supremacy might very well be the best mode currently. Control is pretty lopsided, like 95% chance to lose every match lopsided. I wouldn't recommend any players participate in control until bungie acknowledge what's wrong with their snake draft, hybrid sbmm system. Assuming it's still sbmm.

When these people showed up they claimed they liked to do it and now its a "chore." If they need practice or a place to learn how to play what they said they could that's one thing but I'm not trying to be taxed for things like they don't want to play 3 stacks. I play 3 stacks and what are they planning on doing the whole time they're here. They going to want as much as me but not to play 3 stacks, so I can just play all the 3 stacks. Now that is just ridiculous. When was the last time you really saw any of them burning the midnight oil unless they really just wanted something?

If I don't like something, and have the freedom to decide, like in a video game, then I do whatever I want. Edit: I just saw your triumphs in your profile. It's on principle for you, but is it really necessary?

You don't have to play Supremacy for GG loot, tho. There's nothing exclusive to that mode and you eventually clear out the score challenge eventually then you're done for that week (or ever).

1 ReplyI find Guardian Game's Supremecy fun. I haven't played much pvp in a while & I managed to rack up 1,127 points pretty quickly in less than 10 matches. I didn't think that players actually struggled in Supremecy, but I understand that many Destiny players dislike PVP in general. Play like a vulture & steal your teamates kill crests & run away as if nothing happened, lol. 🤣

9 RepliesThere's no sbmm at all in supremacy. Any mode without sbmm attract the elites like flies to -blam!-. Despite them saying "we are tired of sweating 24/7, we just want to use random loadouts & play with low skilled friends" they play in 2s & 3s, & use conditional finality & adept trials guns

I agree!!!! OMG! I went in to a Supremacy match a few days ago. The first PVP match in a very long time to try and gild my Champ title. I only need the Supremacy score. No thank you. First match was OK but I immediately noticed the starvation of grenade energy and special ammo. Second match - I was farmed by the same player over and over before I decided to leave the match and gave up all together. What the hell happened to PVP? Needless to say I won't be bothering with trying to gild Champ. No wonder you hear among some players that they enjoy Mayhem Clash. It's the last bastion left...but for how long?

Its not that bad. It can be frustrating but all you really have to do is get the diamond medallions to get the platinum score.

The only thing that bothers me about Supremacy is that KD farmers use the crests as bait, just like Control Points or the Heavy Ammo crate. It can make it hard to actually win the match when one or two people on your team refuse to collect crests. Beyond that it's pretty okay.

I play pvp quite a bit, but I absolutely hate supremacy and will be glad when it’s gone. It has to be the worst pvp mode in the game, next to countdown.

It should probably be easier to destroy people in that mode but yeah, its kind of a chore a lot of the time.
