crucible feels awful to play because you almost always have to sit in a match that was decided in the first sixty seconds. i absolutely detest playing crucible, stop making me play supremacy every year.
gambit is the superior pvp activity because in theory you never know who is going to win and the matches are WAY more frequently a close call until the end. i have legit been in matches where my team was down 15 motes to primeval summoned and my team, me and three blueberries, pulled out a win. i've been on the opposite side, where me and three friends should have won but the other team was more on the ball and good for them. in crucible there is no come-from-behind victory, there is no underdog wins the day story, and it sucks and it's the worst to have to endure seven minutes of something that is already over.
please put some -blam!- effort into gambit, you absolute lunatics, because i would like to be excited about pvp and the proposed changes to crucible, while definitely a valiant effort and on paper sounded great, don't change the fact that it's still crucible and it's everything i hate about pvp gaming and crucible still feels awful to play.

1 ReplyLuckily with the new skill increase and primary play we can now tell that everyone who complains just can’t aim with a primary weapon
-
5 RepliesIts true that some people aren't going to want to play all that much more PvP no matter what the game does for them. And a lot of people would play more gambit if it had more stuff.
-
Fully agree They bungie is to focused on pvp. Not pvpe.
-
12 RepliesGambit is also god awful. Blueberries always need 15 motes. Invades determine the outcome. Blockers delay spawn sometimes ruining the pace. Sweaty people izanagi you off spawn.

1 ReplyI enjoy Crucible and Gambit. Comp has a decent amount of closely contested matches and the occasional dramatic comeback when all looked lost. The good thing about round based modes is when your team is getting destroyed and all out of sync, you have a chance to reset and try something different. Gambit has some pretty strong comeback mechanics to assist the losing team. Keeps it exciting, but they can also sometimes drag things on and on.

Bungie: In 23 Seasons we have literally supported Gambit once. Season of the Joker. We may have came up with that playlist activity but we can assure you that no one at Bungie HQ plays it.

1 ReplyIf you prefer Gambit, then play Gambit. I used to love playing Gambit, especially Prime when it was around. I was often the reaper on my team, and LOVED just slaying out on the mobs of enemy spawns and doing counter invader duties with the Sentry. I dont think I have played any Gambit this season though. May have to give it a shot again. I mostly play casual PvP or Nightfall PvE/Master Lost sectors now. Thats pretty much my day to day play, where I can just go on autopilot and not have to think about much. With Gambit I always felt that there was too much left to chance, and theres only so much that you can do depending what kind of teammates you play with. You can get 65+ kill games, and teammates dont come and work with you to pickup motes and bank... and it feels like you need to do EVERYTHING yourself. Slay, bank, kill blockers, and even invade if nobody else is. The majority of the playerbase doesnt understand the roles of the game mode, where Prime helped define that a bit better with the role perks... When I used to play Prime, I had active clan members to do it, but now Im flying solo most of the time.

2 RepliesThe best thing they could do for Gambit is return it to its original iteration. Everything they've done to Gambit since then has only made it worse... which is why they've clearly given up.
-
1 ReplyI dont know about that I have some matches where my team is losing by 20 points and out of nowhere we catch up and sometimes we lose but it was a hell of a game and sometimes we win
-
4 RepliesWtf are you talking about?? I stoped reading when you said gambit was the superior game mode, because you are obviously off your meds. Gambit is by far the worst pinnacle activity this game has ever had.

crucible feels awful to play because you almost always have to sit in a match that was decided in the first sixty seconds.

gambit is the superior pvp activity
These two sentences existing in the same post are sending me lmao.

Gambit matches seem close because of the rampant catch-up mechanics. The game is much easier for the team that’s losing. They can’t really do that in PvP. Crucible is frustrating for average players, like me. But I’d never want to play a match where I got more armor or the other team did less damage when my team is losing.

6 RepliesEdited by Meaga: 3/23/2024 12:46:19 AMGambit isn’t pvp, it’s PvEvP? It is an entirely different game type. If you don’t like PvP gaming don’t play PvP, what is the point of this post? If you want effort given to gambit just ask for that point blank, although I wouldn’t expect that anytime soon because the crucible needs work as it’s this game’s single most replaceable activity that can retain a large audience. They also need to work on more, high quality endgame content, as well as the new light experience. This game needs work

5 RepliesI used to be a Gambit main, now I'm a Coil main. Most people that dislike Gambit just don't know how to play it.
-
Nope sorry. Gambit is the worst experience in the game. If I want to play pvp, I'll play pvp. I am not going to sit there and farm motes only for some tryhard to come in and keep killing my useless team because they're too stupid to hide behind a rock. At least in crucible I can do well even if my team sucks.

Edited by Magiscene: 3/23/2024 1:43:12 PMI love gambit way more than pvp but because I always get teammates that refuse to invade forcing me to invade while the other team invades every chance they get ruined the mode for me. I like invading don’t get me wrong but when it’s the only role I have to do every game it got boring. I want to do other roles too and mindlessly kill adds too. Like PvP they keep taking away and nerfing our options to kill with just made it boring.

Honestly, sad but true.

Don't worry, BUNGIE just needs to look around and copy some PvP system/format from other games and call it a day. I heard HALO has a pretty good pvp, BUNGIE.
