Look I’m a 2.25 for the season with almost a 1000 games played. Trials feel absolutely horrible. I went flawless 23 times last week and this is my experience.
As a solo player if I have an ok game I lose. If I do not carry I lose. I have had several 18+ kill games that I lost because my teammates can’t get a single kill.
Matchmaking is a straight up joke. Something really needs to change and quickly. I understand not everyone is going to be a 1.0 however I shouldn’t have a 0.4 and 0.6 on my team playing against 1.8 1.6 and a 1.0. It just doesn’t make sense.
Bungie we need a better matchmaking system please. I love trials but I’m finding it harder and harder to log in each week.

I agree. The current matchmaking is severely punishing anyone that invests in skill. As the game tries to keep everyone at 50/50 it will give you worse and worse team mates to compensate... The problem is that it is extremely frustrating to lose due to really bad team mates, whilst it is a lot less frustrating to lose to a good team. Ideally place similar skill people together and either let them meet a team that's above or below them randomly. The result is that if you have higher skill, you should be rewarded with a slightly higher win rate, as you on average should meet more teams below your skill level then above. If I lose to a better team then I can learn from their load out, their movement, strategy and such, but when I lose because my team mate doesn't understand how to rez or is inspecting the map geometry instead of participating in gun flights... I can't learn anything from that except that matchmaking is broken. Yeah sure, some games would be a blowout, but it would go both ways.
