Maybe try creating counters instead of endlessly playing whack a mole

target lock did not change ttk on autos

Yeh, give it Wolfpack rounds instead

3 RepliesI thought people liked auto rifle metas? Hand cannons, that requires actual skill to be able to consistently hit headshot, was completely crapped on by bad players, who can't hit headshots and hate players that can. Well now you get to deal with a meta that's far worse than a hand cannon meta, a brain dead, low skill required, auto rifle laser beam meta. Have fun!

Regular Target Lock is a fairly-mid perk on auto rifles, even against high resil guardians. For Summoner, at its best, it has a single bullet of forgiveness (ie, body instead of crit) for high resilience guardians. If you hit your shots, it literally won't do anything. 8c1b versus 9c for T8-T10. For low resilience guardians, it might shave a body shot off. This is something, but at 600 RPM, it's not much. In a meta full of Wormhusks and overshields and healing grenades, it's IMO a trap. Passive benefits can be really nice (Zen Moment is fantastic, Headseeker is amazing, etc), but Target Lock's glory days are behind it. SMGs are where it shined the brightest, and now it's where it went to die, IMO. I regard it similarly to Rangefinder. It does something, theoretically, but you can probably do better.

I think target lock is pointless on anything other than machine guns. Waste of a perk for primary

2 RepliesMore crying. Eventually we'll start the round with just our hands and we have to grab blue weapons. Bunch of spoiled slap jawed %#$@##. Weapons are fine. Summoner, prosecutor, and suros are all good right now. That's what the meta is.

I just played 2 qp matches, had 3 to 4 people just spraying Summoners down every hallway. It's out of control at the moment no matter what game type you play. I want to get better but how can you learn from your mistakes if you are just getting team shot with over powered weapons none stop
-
It might've been because of the ROF differences. Idk if it changes per archetype, but you'll probably kill a guy before Lodbrok for example starts ramping up damage.
-
Target lock on autos does basically nothing, except if you land mostly body shots. Maybe learn to counter them by peek shooting... A good HC player will still beat a good AR player.

5 RepliesEdited by Ghostfire239: 3/18/2024 7:11:14 AMYup. I swapped from Handcannons to Autos and the game became significantly easier. Hell, swapping off Handcannons to any other primary made the game feel easier for me but swapping to Autos feels like you’re activating cheat codes. Even a regular auto without crazy perks is really good, and easy.

Counters without nerfs just become power creep. Not much better as we’ve already seen

let you into a little secret, bungie is dumb so they wont change the habit of a life time. this is what they do. if you dont like it only thing you can do is not buy their products . you have a choice

11 RepliesTarget lock is useless on an auto rifle.. Onslaught is op on an auto rifle. Kill clip is op on an auto rifle. Golden tricorn is op on an auto rifle. Target lock does nothing to change the ttk of an auto rifle, it is a useless wasted perk on an auto rifle.

Trials this weekend has been the most miserable it's been in a long time. Matches are just both teams pre-firing Summoner down lanes until someone loses the war of attrition. It's so boring.
-
That why they need to hire an input mechanics specialist from the fighting game space. Preferably someone from Capcom. To create a good counter system... then let ability spam live. Then when a weapon gets a 1 dmg change like ARs... it might not throw the whole sandbox into chaos. Everyone... should make a Child of the Old Gods kit... because IT is that 1 dmg change + Target Lock... BUT... that's being highly exacerbated by the team shot meta shift. So run Void Buddy. That's the easiest counter to the murder pod meta right now.

1 ReplyHardlight isn't half bad, also bouncing shots to finish someone off feels evil.
